ANOTHER CIRCUMSTANTIAL SPECULATION:
We have it that Elijah E. CLOUSE died in Bond Co., IL in 1852 and that he had a daughter named Nancy who married William Noah SUGGS
and they had a daughter named Margaret who married Robert Mackay.
I found in the 1880 census for Bond Co., IL this family:

Alvin MACKAY Son S Male W 6 IL At Home IL IL
Olley MACKAY Dau S Female W 4 IL At Home IL IL
Walter MACKAY Son S Male W 4M IL IL IL
Joseph PARTON Other S Male W 26 TN Laborer TN TN
Again, the parental nativity for this Margaret Mackay says Illinois for both and our Margaret's parental nativity should be
Tennessee. I have seen too many errors in enumeration and transcription to assume the correctness of ANYTHING and most of the
errors are in parental nativity.
We have it that Margaret & Robert had a daughter named Emily. There is no Emily in this household, but Emily was most likely born
after 1880 as her marriage date to John Johnson is 1928 [as per Neil Smith.]
To strengthen the POSSIBILITY is the fact that five households away there is this listing:

Y'All -
I looked in the neighborhood of where William Clouse & Family were living in 1880 - Madison Co., NC - and found two families that I
SPECULATE are the families of the two daughters that are not included in the household of William. The families of William & his
son, Robert, were enumerated on page 61D of the census.
This family, also on page 61D, has a Sarah of the correct age - but the parental nativity is incorrect.
1880 Census Place Bull Creek, Madison, North Carolina

William ROGERS Son S Male W 3 NC NC NC
John R. ROGERS Son S Male W 1 NC NC NC
Jacob WILLIS Other S Male W 19 NC Laborer-Servant NC TN
Her nativity, from other sources, is listed as Tennessee, but the nativity or those children in William's household (and Robert's)
indicates that the family was in Tennessee prior to 1855, then in North Carolina for a period between 1855 and 1863 when they were
back in Tennessee. Then, between 1863 and 1866, they moved back to North Carolina. Both missing daughters, Sarah & Ruth, were born
during a time that the family could have been in North Carolina.
This family, on page 62A, has a Ruth of the correct parental nativity and born in that period when the family could have been in
North Carolina, although other sources have her as being born in Tennessee.

I am just tossing these out as POSSIBILITIES and am noting the possibility in the notes for Sarah & Ruth until further information
confirms or belies the issue.
