Ian Clough,
My great grandmother was Ella Mae Clough. She was born in Sonora, CA, in 1860. Her father was Zebulon Montgomery Pike Clough, born in Alabama. Etc., Etc. These were Southern Clough and there is another line of that name (Clough) in the North. Begin with your parents and where they lived and move backwards. I was fortunate enough to have a good understanding of my history back to about five generations. Visit my tree and take what you need.
