Hi Cousin Pat:
Yes I am still researching the Clough/Wright as best as I can over the Internet. I am now 85 years old and live in a Senior Citizens Retirement Community in Northern Virginia. Except for a few nagging health issues I am about as well as can be expected. I have found just about everything on them that I can in the Fairfax County Library.
My grandmother Willie Ann Wright is the sister of Edward and Everett Wright and their father is Pleasant Wright. You may or may not know this but Pleasant Wright was a Confederate Soldier during the Civil War. Based on his Civil War Records he was a Private assigned to Company B of the 38th Battalion Virginia Light Artillery. It appears that he enlisted for 1 year in July of 1863,but he served with distinction until the end of the war in 1865. On April 18th 1865 he signed and was given a Parole of Honor not to take part in any hostilites against the United States of America. Today he is interred along with his wife in Riverview Cemetery in Richmond, VA. His burial section is located just a short distance from where his daughters Willie Ann and Ruth and son Everett are interred.
All four of my great grandfathers served as Confederate Soldiers during the Civil War. Due to their participation in the Civil War and my Military Service during World War II the United Dauthers of the Confederacy in Northern Virginia presented me with the Military Cross of Service.
Yes I too would like to keep in touch. You can E-Mail me direct at; maraudermn(a)aol.com and my telephone is 703 569 2526.
Cousin Bernie Bland
