This book is indeed available through the John Clough Genealogical Society. www.johncloughgenealogicalsociety.org
In 2009, the work was updated to include all corrections and additions that have been obtained since it's original publication alomost fifty years ago.

That's an interesting story. I will try to read all of it.
Maybe his family never got involved with their genealogy so he just got left out somehow. Just a thought.

I have a Timothy Stainthorpe Clough in my family and they lived in Bradford. He married Jane Lightowler. Could Timothy be any relation so you? Thanks

Hi Sheila,
Might you have a Esther Clough who married into the Winslow family of North Yarmouth Maine in your D-base?
Thank You

Hi Clark,
Thanks for the interesting story.
I don't seem to have this Joel Clough in my database, thus his exclusion
from our new book set.
I would like to peruse his book to find out who his parents were, etc. I
checked out Google books and they didn't have it scanned.
If anyone can find a copy to read, let me know what it says so his life can
be added to my huge Clough database and any future books.
Thanks for sharing! :-)
Sheila

For those who missed the earlier message, the story of Joel Clough (born in Unity, NH in 1804), who killed Mrs. Hamilton 1833 (a case of unrequited love) and went to the gallows, is at
http://pds.lib.harvard.edu/pds/view/5809806?n=1&s=4
His ghost is said to haunt the Burlington County Jail.
A cousin in AZ found what may be Joel's line....
She writes that he was a son of Benjamin Clough #700 in the Clough book. Benjamin's father was also named Benjamin #203...
Unity, NH is now in Sullivan county. ..
She also writes that "On the Sullivan county info page etc. I found the following which are very much the same as Benjamin #700."
