I am new to this List.
My wife is a descendent of a Joanna Clough, who married James Cram in either
NH (Unity) or Jay, NY (Essex County). Circa 1810. The information we have
is that she was born 7 July 1788 at Unity, NH. (Sullivan County?).
James Cram had a 1st wife, Susan (?????). They had three children, Ransom b
ca 1804, James, and John. We understand Susan died very young.
James Cram moved to Jay, NY. We do not know when--or if Susan was still
alive.
Sometime after Susan's death, James Cram married Joanna Clough, most likely
while yet in NH. We can not find anything about this marriage. But, they
had children. The family moved to Ohio-- Wyandot or Marion County, Ohio.
Joanna, we understand, was the daughter of Benjamin Clough, b 1757 and
Joanna Young b ca 1760, who lived at Rockingham, NH.
James Cram is buried at Meeker, Ohio. Buried beside him is Joanna Cram,
Wife of James Cram.
James and Joanna had children. One of those, Mary Cram b 1823, is my wife's
ancestor. She married Benjamin Guitteau Britton in 1842. (Known as Gitto).
We would appreciate any information on these people.
Thank you, Bob
