Glad to hear so quickly that someone found this info useful. I will send you a scan of the article next -- it includes a photo. The quality is poor, very dark, but it is a photo of Ruth reading a book.
I found another Clough/Odell reference in another part of the book, pg. 20, "Necrology of the Month" section. This is a death notice:
"D.L. Odell -- At Kilbourn, Dec. 25, aged 63 years. He served in the civil war in Co. A., 6th Wisconsin in the Iron Brigade. He became a successful and prominent farmer of Sauk county, recently moving to Kilbourn where he had just erected a handsome residence. He married Miss Sarah Clough less than three years ago."

Found this bio while researching Cloughs. I am not sure yet of a connection, but thought I would share this since it has lots of family info. Note that Kilbourn is the old name for Wisconsin Dells.
>From the Story of the Wisconsin River and Early History of Adams Country, May 1905:
The Ninety-Third Birthday of a Pioneer
On the 26th of March a pleasant company of neighbors and friends met at the home of Mrs. D. T. Odell in Kilbourn in honor of the 92d birthday of her mother-in-law, Mrs. Ruth Odell, who began life before the close of the last war for American independence. Ruth Phoenix was born in York county Maine March 15, 1813, her ancestors having fought in war for independence. In 1831 she married Daniel Clough whose father was a soldier under Washington, and with his three sons, one this lady's husband, in the war of 1812. In 1855 she came with her husband and family to Walworth county. They came to Portage in 1849 and for many years the family were active men in that city. Their house stood on the ground now occupied by the postoffice, and the same house is now the M.E. parsonage. In 1855 her husband died and she made her home withher step-sons in Portage until 1867, when she was married to Hiram Odell, of the town of Excelsior, Sauk county. Mr.Odell died in 1855 [sic], and she continu!
ed to make her home with her step-son, D.T. Odell, until they moved to Kilbourn several years ago. Though she was never the mother of children she was all that an own mother could have been to her step-children. The following are the names of those and their descendents:
Wm. Clough, father of Prof. W.G. Clough, of Portage.
Daniel Clough, father of Adelbert, of Downing, Wis.; Herbert, Custer, Wash.; Mrs. W. E. Collins, Downing, Wis.; Mrs. Sarah Odell, Kilbourn.
David Clough, whose widow and children live in Maine and a son in St. Paul.
Benjamin and Steven Clough of Kilbourn, and Mrs. E.N. Sargent of Big Spring, are descendants of her husband's brother Daniel; Sylvester Clough, Mrs. Orrin Foster, of Kilbourn, and Mrs. Moses of Pennsylvania are descendants of another brother, Stephen.
In the Odell family there were the following descendants of her husband, Hiram Odell:
Mrs. Rebecca Vandermark, Ortonville, Minn.; Mrs. Elizabeth Braley, Monowi, Neb.; Jasper Odell, North Freedom; and Mrs. Ortt of St. Paul and D.T. Odell of Kilbourn, deceased.
Though now in her ninety-third year Mrs. Odell is yet a vigorous old lady andher faculties, except for a slight deafness, are bright and accute. She reads constantly, gets around actively and talks entertainingly of events that happened in her life before the birth of people who are now great grandparents.

I am looking for information on Mehitable Tarr born 31 Mar 1739. She first had a marriage to a Mr. Tarr ( I don't know his name) and had children: Elizabeth Tarr b. ca 1759 (m. Daniel Lambert of Pownalborough, ME), Abraham Tarr b. ca 1761 (resided in Balltown/Whitefield, ME), Mary Tarr b. ca 1763 and Joseph Tarr b. ca. 1764. She married Moses Cooper Sr. on 16 Feb 1767 in Gloucester, Essex, MA and then had children Sarah Cooper b. 1 Nov 1767 in Gloucester, MA, Jedediah Cooper b. 16 Aug 1772 in Balltown (presently Whitefield) ME and Moses Cooper Jr. in May 1776 in Balltown, ME.
I have no death date for Mehitable, little on her first marriage and little information on her children. I am a descendant of her son Jedediah Cooper and I am trying to research the collateral lines. Any information is helpful and I am willing to share mine. Thanks
