Clough Listers...
Here is the full name/date/place information from the John and William
Clough Bibles I have. The anems aren't among those that crop up regularly on
the list; but perhaps some of you will have conenctions to one or more ov
them. Starting with my great-grandfather, Martin Luther Bulkeley, the
informatin comes from non-Bible sources. FYI, I'm at generation 8 counting
from the first John Clough.
Christy C. Bulkeley
John Clough-
His wives and children; further lines from his grandson William Clough as
recorded in two family Bibles, one by John, one by William. Sorted by
Christy C. Bulkeley, 8th generation, from transcripts of the Bible notes (but
she has the Bibles, too).
Asides in quotation marks are from the Bibles; other parenthetical remarks
are Christy's. Comments noted here may help experienced folks sort some
parts of this that aren't clear.
Comments in the John Clough Bible refer to membership in the church at
Charlestown "under the pastoral care of Rev. Mr. Hull Abbott and Mr. Printer"
and "the Rev. Doct. Elliot"
Oct, 1793, "my son, Billy, died in Philadelphia of the yellow fever or
plage." Only one William is noted in list of children; but a note with
William's birth also reports his death in 1798.
Oct. 2, 1972: "This day my two grandchildren, Wyat St. Barbe and Sally
Decker was baptized by the Rev. Mr. Bass of Newberry, Mass (unclear) when
they had the smallpox upon them. "My grandson, Wyat St. Barbe Clough died
the 12th day of October â¦" (NOT clear whose son this was, given a separate
note about the death of grandson Wyat St. Barbe in the West Indes)
