I am looking for some information concerning the descendants of Ephraim Clough
& Harriet Whitney. In particular, George, Frank & Homer.
I was recently given an old scrapbook from a basement with some pictures
in it. One has Hannah Clough's Granddaughter Emma King with her cousin, Frank
Clough in it. (I do have a scanner, so I can send it to anyone who wants it.)
I am curious as to where Frank lived in his teens and early 20's (I'm
terrible with ages, but that would be my guess here) I also have obits from
this King family citing visiting cousins, Homer & Frank Clough. In the same
batch is a George Clough clipping, concerning his death. Does anyone know when
Ephraim's George died? George may have been married to a Lillian King...I am
interested in hearing more about her as well (collecting Kings here in VT &
NH)
TIA
Rebecca

I wanted the above people to know that I haven't forgotten about the
books. I have been home sick in bed all week long, got a bad case of
broncitis and the flu. Books are all ready to go, just need to get to
the post office to mail them. Will do that as soon as I am able. So
sorry for the delay. Jackie

18 Feb 98 I learned something recently about getting names and addresses
of people who have contributed genealogy information to World Family Tree.
If you have the volume and tree number (given to the right of the name
you've chosen) you can either access the information on the internet or
call a customer service number and get the information for the contributor.
I can finally locate Cindy Clowe Lacy!!! (Just as soon as I find that
particular tree number again). If you want phone numbers and/or internet
address, I can put that in another group message. Let me know if you're
interested. Rebecca Clough Harpole

Actually, what just happened with Sue and her ISP has happened
to several members of this list and multiple other lists I'm on.
This message has nothing to do with Clough genealogy, except if
the ISP puts a spam blocking filter on their system you're not able to
receive your list mail. I'm impressed with Sprynet because they
are the *first* ISP I've dealt with, who knew how to FIX this problem.:)
(I'm reasonably sure that they did put a filter on their system.)
Anyway, it was just a matter of Sue changing a couple of things, and
resubbing to the list. I learned something here for when this problem
occurs again. You might want to keep it in mind for when/if your ISP
decides to "filter" your legitimate mail.
Now back to Clough stuff.:)

So here is a second test to the list.

Hello again,
The references for the most part are names of people who provided me the
information. References are in [ ]'s unless there are multiples. In that
case the word MULTIPLE is in the [ ]'s and the references follows in a
message line. This is not how the program intended me to use the Ref field
but it works for me. If you have questions on any part of what I sent you
I can give you the address of the person who provided me the information.

I have recently stumbled onto some more Clough members that fit someplace in
my family tree. Seems as though someone in the family had collected a lot of
newspaper clippings, from 1914 to 1955, and stuck them in an envelope in a
cookbook. We recently unearthed them, and any clues as to the family of any of
them would be helpful. I figure most of these come from vermont, as that is
where they were found.
Samuel King of Granville Vt marries Lucinda (Clough) Stark, Dec 25 1877
Mrs George Clough of Calais attends the funeral of Maria King Howard, wife of
Solomon Howard and daughter of Samuel and Hannah (Clough) King.
Attending the Funeral (1914) of Seth H King, son of Samuel and Hannah (Clough)
King, were two nephews, Frank and Homer Clough of Northfield
Mrs Harriet (Clough) Thurston Died Jan 7, being 85 years of age, widow of
Henry Thurston. She had been a resident of Braintree for over 50 yrs
East Calais, Dec 9th- George Clough, 62, turned on his radio last night and
then committed suicide by shooting himself. When members of his family
returned late at night, they found his body over a chair, the radio going at
full blast. His son Harold, was in bed upstairs and heard no shot, because of
the radio.
Any information on the above would be most appreciated. Thanks for your help!

I searched Gail's web page for Chester Clough's and there is one that may be
the one I am looking for. He was born 1Jan1797. Does anyone have any more
information? I am looking for a Chester Cluff (family rumor says he changed
the spelling from Clough) that, according to census records was born in NY,
married a Hannah Phelps (b CT) on 3Dec1824 in Licking, OH. His son Walter was
born in 1832 in Granville, Licking, OH. I have more on Walter's descendants (I
am one), but nothing more on Chester.
Thanks for looking,
Karen

WOW!!! Gail, what a tremendous amount of work!! You deserve at LEAST
several more stars in your crown for this accomplishment!! I am struck
dumb at the very thought of it. I'm sure we all thank you from the bottom
of our hearts.
