Hi,
I'm looking for information on Paul Clough's (my ggrandfather)
ancestors. Paul Clough was born in Metamora (Fulton County), Ohio on
25 May 1897 and he died in 1952. He married Elsie Sindel and they had
two
daughters, Roberta Pauline and Maurine. Paul and Elsie were divorced
and he may have been married both before and after their marriage.
This is all of the information I have on him. I'm really stuck!
Thanks,
Joy
I was given information that connects me to John & Jane CLOUGH. Here is what
I have on thier family, please let me know if you see any errors.
Thank you for your help.

Hi cousins....as someone who has not yet met any of you in person, I would
really love to be able to "pull up" old photos her in e-mail. If anyone
sends anything, is it possible to share them by scanning?
Bonnie in Indy.
I have found a direct link back to the Salem area around the time the
Cloughs were there...with the family name Ingalls and Ingersoll. Is
anyone else on here related from those lines?
THank you... :)

Well Clough Cousins as another year comes to a close I would like to say I
hope you all have a very Happy New Year. I know for some of us it has been a
sad year, for some a very trying year. So my wish to all is I hope 1999 is a
much better year. And may all your dreams and wishes come true!
Now for my request, as some of you know I make dolls. Rita Clough has asked
me if I would consider displaying some dolls at the 60th reunion next year.
I have considered doing this and I thought it would be really special if I
could make a doll of our John & Jane. But to do that I need some copies of
old photos - one of each, a male and a female descendant of John and Jane's.
So if any of you have a very old photo that you wouldnt mind emailing me or
even sending me a copy via snail mail I would appreciate it, also please put
the date of when the photo was taken if you should know what it is.
Thanks and once again Alan and I wish you all the best for 1999!

Hi all!
My great-great grandmother, Emma Jane (CLOUGH) NEWCOMB, b. 4 Jul 1864, was an
amatuer astrologer, and she did many, many charts for her relatives. Emma Jane
also did a sort of "Numerical/Surname" forcast, where the person's full name
is given, as well as the mother's maiden name. Without further ado, here's the
list, starting with the astrological forecasts...
Warren H. CLOUGH, b. 14 Feb 1860 in Vermont
Agnes Bowers CLOUGH, b. 15 Sep 1894 @ 12-1 P.M.
Walter Freeman CLOUGH, b. 20 Nov 1895 @ 5 A.M., in Lowell, MA
Wlima CLOUGH, b. 4 Apr 1912 @ 2:40 P.M., in Lowell, MA
Lillyan Drew CLOUGH, b. 3 Feb 1890 @ 9-10 P.M., in No. Reading, MA
Leona CLOUGH, b. 3 May 1913 @ 8-10 P.M.
Elmer W. CLOUGH, b. 8 May 1879 @ 2 A.M. in Lowell, MA, d. 7 Nov 1912 @ 8 P.M.
Arthur W. CLOUGH, b. 25 Apr 1884 @ 5 A.M. in Lowell, MA, m. 24 Dec 1910, d. 7
Nov 1912
Edith CLOUGH, b. 20 Nov 1900 A.M.
Stella Randall CLOUGH, b. 9 Apr 1882 A.M.
Eva CLOUGH, b. 6 Jun 1889 @ 6 A.M.
"Numerical/Surname" Forecasts, mother's maiden name is given LAST:
Arthur Warren CLOUGH TROTT, d. 7 Nov 1912
Elmer Warren CLOUGH TROTT
Walter Freeman CLOUGH TROTT
Edith May CLOUGH TROTT
Henry Harrison CLOUGH HOISINGTON
Please let me know if any of these names ring any bells-- I can send info or
xeroxes...
There are many other names besides CLOUGH that are in these papers, including,
BUFFAM, CLOGSTON, COBB, CREAMER, DUSTIN, GOODWIN, GRAVES, HOISINGTON, MORSE,
NEWCOMB, PORTER and THOM.
Happy Holidays!
Donna
Well, Kathy, you can have some of our snow. <very big grin>

It's been so nice up until now too. <Sigh> Nothing to do
but grin and bear it till spring I guess...

Hi everyone,
Have to agree with the other Washingtonian Clough's. It was darn cold this
morning.
I couldn't even get my car doors open!! Frozen shut! I'm in Western WA so no
snow in the immediate future.
Received a nice Christmas card from Eleanor Clough in Clearlake WA. Last
month she sent me 45 Campbell soup labels for the DAR school and bunches of
stamps to send to the Veteran's Hospital in OR. Lots of thanks and blessing
go out to her :)
All for now, Happy Holidays!

Well from all the wonderful "posts" lately we are all doing somewhat
good. Happy Holidays from Mom and I . We are in the middle of our 3 day
cold snap, 38 to 45 at night and middle 60's in the day. the weather man
said " it is beginning to look like Christmas with all this cold
weather". Well we should be better next week, 70's predicted. For all
those who have a slight more chill in the air, it has been lovely
hearing about it. Good Holidays to all . Judy and Mom.
Does anyone have any information on Jonathan's Clough's (Ephraim-4,
Jonathan-3, John-2, John & Jane) wives and kids? This Jonathon was born 25
Apr 1748 in Stafford,Tolland, CT. One wife was Elizabeth Crosett. Does
anyone know where or when he died? how many kids? names? etc, etc.....???

got up this morning. And it will be colder by Monday. Just wish we
could have a little snow for Christmas. Kathy

Happy Holidays from cold, windy Washington State.
It's 23 with wind chill taking it down to -15, and the weather man is
calling for -10 with wind chill to -30 by Monday.
Wishing all of you Happy research in 1999, and know that you will all
share your findings.

twin brother.

Hello everyone....even though I have not met any of you......there is a
sense of "connection" because of the shared ancestry....and my discoveries
this year for my other ancestors has led me to really feel a stronger
"kinship" with those I do not know; and therefore respect for your and
their well-being....it has often occurred to me this year that if our
children...and those in our schools understood how truly closely knit
they are with all the other folks around them, perhaps we would have less
disrespect and less crime.... just a thought.... Finding out about my
ancestry has left me feeling more profoundly about all those around
me...I wonder if any of you feel that way?
I too, wish all the best blessing for all of you and a wondrous and
beautiful New Year....
Bonnie in Indy
P.S. ....and lots of discoveries in your searches

Dear Cousins,
My apologies if there was any misunderstanding about
the message I sent to the list yesterday, regarding
the "closing" of the Rootsweb lists.
The Rootsweb lists, including Clough-L, are all STILL
"here". You will still post to the list as you always
have, and you'll still receive any messages sent to the
list by other list members, the same way you always have.
^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^
********************************************************
If you are receiving this message, then you are subscribed
to Clough-L, and may post and receive list mail just as
you always have. There is really no change as far as
you're concerned.
*********************************************************
What the message from Rootsweb meant, was that they have
changed, (closed) all the lists, so that ONLY those who
are subscribed to them are allowed to post and receive
list mail. (An "Open" list is one where people can post
to the list members, whether or not they are subscribed.
A "Closed" list, means that posting is restricted to
members only.) The reason for "closing" the lists is to
prevent SPAM from being sent to the members of our mailing
lists.
SPAM means messages that contain things like obscene
material, or messages that are purely advertisments
for some service or product.
SPAM messages were being sent to Rootsweb lists by people
(or businesses) who were not subscribed to the lists. The
messages have absolutely nothing to do with the topic of the
lists they were sent to. In our case, I mean these messages
would have nothing to do with anything that would relate to
our discussion about Clough genealogy. (You certainly don't
want to receive these SPAM messages in your mailbox through
Clough-L, or any other list you're on.)
SPAM e-mail is the equivalant of the "junk mail" you receive
in your postal mailbox, or similar to telemarketing phone
calls. Therefore, the Rootsweb managment has taken the very
sound step of "closing" the lists, to prevent these messages
from ever getting through to you, the list members.
Once again, ALL this means is that a message sent to the
lists by anyone who is NOT subscribed, will not appear
on the list. You are all subscribed. Therefore any
message any of you send to the list WILL appear. You will
still send and receive list mail the same way you always
have. This change will not affect you in any way.
^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^
Again, sorry for any confusion this may have caused.
We're all still here.

Dear Cousins,
I'm sending the message below along, FYI. Actually it doesn't
affect any of you, since I had "closed" Clough-L many months ago.
All this means, is that you have to actually be subscribed to the
list, in order for your messages to go to everyone on the list.
All SPAM will appear only in my mailbox, as it has been. You won't
even receive it. And only those who are subscribed to the list
will have posting privileges.
