I'm forwarding this message to the list. Hopefully someone here
can use the information about Rev. Dr. Clough, founder of Topeka KS.
(This is getting to be kind of funny, because Harriette is the listowner

Hi Elaine,
Do you know where you Clow family lived in KS? Some of my William Clow
/ Clowe / Cloe 's family moved to Kansas. What else can you tell me
about them? Perhaps they were living in Kansas when the 1895 State
Census was taken. It is not indexed, but it you know the County or city
in a couple of hours one could possibly find them. I have a double
connection with the Cloe / Clow family. William the son of James Cloe
went to IN, Rush County I believe it was.

Oh, you'll want to check this site out! These are maps from an 1895 atlas,
and they're just wonderful. The URL below will get you to the map of Vermont.

Or this one will take you to the main page, and you can go to any state you
like from there...Wonderful resource.

I sent for the military records for my Aunt Mabel. The National Personnel
Records Center did not have any information, because they need more info from
me.
I was not aware that she was in the QMC, so all I have is her name, birthdate,
where she was born, and when and where she graduated from high school. They
sent me another form to fill out, but I do not have any more information.
Do you have any suggestions on where I look for these Military records. She
served during WWI.
Thank you in advance.

We have just begun to research my husband's line: Clow
Joseph Wilburn Clow, b 1890 KS d CA, m Verna Bell Ingram, Guthrie, OK
children all born in OK:
1. Twins, d at birth
2. Bernice Clow
3. Glenwood Wilburn Clow, b 1912 (my husband's father)
4. Easter Ann Clow
5. Virginia Ann Clow
6. James Clow
We just received Joseph's death certificate. (do NOT rely on what family
members say - we had been researching IL as state of birth instead of KS
- we spent days trying to find this family in IL census!)
I would appreciate any information on this family.
Lane
Group,
Someone just sent me this. Hopefully it will be useful to someone
on list, so I'm passing it along.

Hi Cousins,
I know that some of you are new to this list, and I have gotten
several emails asking what this book is about that I am always talking
about. So this is a small blurb letting you know all at once.
When this list first started up a few of us were talking and thought
what a neat thing it would be if we could see how close we are all
related. I volunteered to get everyones lineages sent to me and put
it all together. One thing led to another, and I came out of it witha
small book. Which is never really complete when it comes to genealogy
- as you all know! So those of you that are direct descendants of
John & Jane Clough are more than welcome to send your lineages to me
if you would like. I will add them to my data base, and by doing so
it will automatically add them to my book. Currently I have over 910
names listed - just from Clough L descendants!!! The book can be
purchased by anyone on the list for a small fee of $8.00 to cover my
supplies and shipping. It includes: short stories of John & Jane,
and some of their children, an outline desendants report, a kinship
report, a genealogy report, a copy of a copy of Johns last will, and
if yu send your lineage it will include a copy of your kinship report
to all of us on the list that have sent me their lineages. So just
send in those lineages if you are interested.
Have a great day. jackie

I have done some minor work on the web page. Updates include:
Liz Walker's new home page address
Jackie Gilligan's corrected home page address
Two new general genealogy links
A few new pictures
What I'd like to do next:
Still working on organizing the small handfull of ancestor pics I have.
I'd like to supplement them with pics of current ancestors (That means
you!!).
Anyone who would like to write a small blurb for publication about any
of John's children, please send it to me and I will add it to their
page.
Anyone who has a copy of any Clough documentation from original sources
(birth/death/marriage certificates, will's, deeds, etc...) that is
willing to scan them in and email 'em to me, please please please do
so. They will find their way to the page as well.

I descend from Wadleigh's brother, Moses Jr. And Jackie Gilligan and
Vernon Clough on this list descend from Wadleigh. I'm sure they can
both help you with his descendants. If you need his ancestors, all of

Hi Larry, and welcome to the list. I'm not finding the couple you're
searching for in a quick look at the index of the Clough genealogies I
have here, but hopefully someone else on list will be able to help you
more. CLOW is definately one variation of Clough/Cluff, so CLOWS may be
also. Stay with us a bit, and maybe someone can help you with it.
