Not sure how I got this, but this is not our line of Cloughs who were all in Texas at the time of this person's birth in Detroit. See George Washington Clough born October 1820 somewhere in Virginia and ended up in East Texas by 1845. Good luck, Susan

Hello Sheila,
I have been contacted by a female who is looking for her birth parents. She
was born in 1957 in Detroit MI and has no idea about her birth parents. When
born she was immediately surrendered for adoption (to the Methodist
Children's Home). I was adopted at 3 weeks of age. Her search has been up
against a wall due to sealed records.
Through Ancestry.com she is a Possible range: 3rd - 4th cousin - Confidence:
Extremely High. My thought is could the parent be a person within the
clough family? If so is there a way to ask the question if someone has
knowledge of having birthed a girl child born in May 1957 in Detroit MI and
would like to get in contact with that child, I would be happy to be a
contact for them. This would mean that her parents would be about my age
(76).
I know the possibilities of making a contact is slim but if the question is
never asked then the answer will remain unknown.
If you feel comfortable with passing this information on to your Clough
family connections, just possibly, this woman can be provided answers about
her heritage.
Thank you,
George Estey
