Sheila;
The town of Benton, NH still exists but is incorporated into the township
of Haverhill. This is still part of Grafton County.

Dear Sheila,
Westmoreland was organized in 1741 and was in Cheshire County, New
Hampshire. I don't know if it was still in Cheshire County in 1822.

Sheila,
In my list of towns organized in New Hampshire before 1800, I cannot
find a Rumford, but there was a Rumney organized in 1705 in Grafton County
New Hampshire. I don't know if this is it or not, but that is the best that
I can do.
