Sheila,
I just wanted to publicly commend you for taking on such a huge task. I am

Subject: [CLOUGH-GENEALOGY] Back In Touch...Book Info...
Dear List,
Sorry to be out of touch for the past couple of weeks. And, sorry for
bombarding your e-mail boxes with inquiries regarding the new book. This
is
the best means to get quick answers since I did not have the time to
research
the info I was looking for.
Just prior to the litany of e-mail's regarding counties, which passed this
list, I set the new book "in stone." Therefore, any info that has come to
me since then has NOT be included.
Why? Because this massive book had to be proofed and is being Indexed.
Just the "Genealogy Report" portion of the book that lists the descendants
of our John Clough is 1,604 pages. That does not include all of the info
that will be put in the beginning of the book nor the Index at the back.
All of this takes time and we need to start working with the printer in
August to be sure that our final product is "up to snuff" and ready to be
printed. Then, there is the time it takes to have the book set printed.
The deadline for sending me info was actually last summer, as set by our
Immediate Past President, Earle Clough. In the past many months I have
been
working with family members in editing their info and was able to accept
some new info because of this. However, at the beginning of July that
process had to end whether family members had completed their most recent
research efforts or not.
Thank you all for your understanding of the above and gratitude for our
upcoming new book!
JCGS members, please watch your mailboxes and e-mail in August for updates
on how to purchase your copy/copies of our new Clough book set. Non JCGS
members can watch this list for details and our website
(_www.JohnCloughGS.com_ (http://www.JohnCloughGS.com) ) as well. However,
please remember, we
will have member and non-member pricing. Therefore, membership will
certainly have its perks. If you are not currently a JCGS member, please
contact
our Treasurer, John R. Clough, at _seapop-1(a)comcast.net_

Hi Sheila, A note re: Crown Point. It was one of the forts in history in
the war with the French and the Revolution. It is on Lake Champlain just
north of Ticonderoga. Chances are the man you were inquiring about was
killed there in one of the battles. The French killed a lot of prisoners
there as well. Millie

Joan:
I tried to send you an e-mail to the above address, but it did not go
through. Hope this is more direct than Roots web. I will make this short
and to the point. My great great grandfather was Joel Barber Clough. His
mother was Lovice Barber, the daughter of Ebenizer Barber. Please contact
me reference to the connection.
