Hi Clark,
I am currently working on some info for your cousin H. David Clark and was
thinking of sending you some Family Group Sheets to update for me. Thank you
for the excuse to send them to you! :-)
I will save your e-mail as new so I will be reminded to print them out for
you after I have purchased more paper.
Thanks very much for your willingness in bringing your line up to date! :-)
Best Wishes,
Sheila

Hi, Sheila...
Glad to hear that work on vol. 3 is progressing. I'm just checking to make
sure you have the data on our branch of the Clough family... John, John,
John, John, Samuel, Isaac, David, Edgar (and his twin brother, Edwin...
Edwin is the great-grandfather of Irene Clough Hahn). My mother was the
oldest daughter of Edgar Clarence Clough (b. Sept. 25, 1856 in
Durham-Brunswick, Maine, died February 4, 1942, Cohasset, Mass.) and
Elizabeth Jane Lean. Although Edgar changed his last name from Clough to
Clark, our line was confirmed when my first cousin, Dave Clark, took the DNA
test... Irene's father, Harold Lincoln Clough, also took the DNA test, which
again confirmed our Clough heritage.
best regards, Clark

Hi,
Since I am new to the group how do I get the new Clough volume?

Dear Listers,
The race is on to print our third volume which will incorporate the
information from the previous two as well as up through the current generations. In
order to have as accurate a record possible, I will need the assistance of
family members to assist in correcting discrepancies that are found.
Periodically I will send discrepancies to the list in hopes that family
members might be able to solve them - not by simply looking into the information
they may have already sent to me but by actually doing some additional
research to resolve the discrepancy.
For anyone who is interested in assisting but may feel that they simply do
not have the skills necessary to do additional genealogical research, please
visit your local public library. Most public libraries these days have folks
available who are more than willing to assist you in learning more, and
possibly better, techniques for unearthing pertinent genealogical information.
Please remember: do not accept information as fact just because you saw it
online, read it in a book, or it was sent to you by another family member.
You need Primary Sources to "prove" your lines. Primary Sources are records
that were created at the time of an event. Events are births, marriages,
deaths, etc.
In order to have the most correct Clough database possible, we all need to
be on the same page in regard to the information we submit. And, thank
goodness we have a wonderful family that continues to be very helpful in submitting
as much information as possible!
It is a pleasure to receive genealogical information from Clough family
members as well as to receive back the Family Group Sheets I send to family
members where I have highlighted the missing and/or incomplete information on
them. Thank you to all of you who have helped, and continue to help, in bringing
my Clough database as up to date and correct as possible!!
It may appear that I am a stickler for accuracy. That is because I am.
When dealing with genealogical information that will be passed down the
generations, we owe it to our descendants to have information that is as accurate as
possible. Therefore, when I go through information that has been sent to me
and I find a person's name spelled one way on one page and another way on
another page, I will ask for the correct spelling. The same goes for multiple
dates and/or places for the same event.
I also ask folks for ancestry information on those who have married into our
Clough family. Why? Because I have made some remarkable connections for
family members by virtue of having this additional information.
My file now has just under 55,500 individuals in it. Not all of the
individuals are Clough's. For example, because of all of the research I put into
the Royal families of Europe years ago, I have been able to connect some Clough
family members with British and/or European royal families through
individuals who married into our Clough family. This is in addition to the
connections mentioned above that include having found multiple Clough ancestral lines
for family members as well as current married couples who are married to
distant cousins.
Many thanks for all of your assistance in making my Clough database as
accurate as possible!
Please feel free to contact me anytime with questions or comments.

Dear Listers,
In my database I have a Daniel Clough who married Abigail Atwood.
Daniel has several birth dates:
Aug. 11, 1763 in Poplin, Rockingham County, NH
Mar. 11, 1762 in Dracut, MA (submitter did not include the county)
Mar. 11 1763 in Dracut, Middlesex County, MA
Oct. 15, 1763 in Dracut, Middlesex County, MA
Daniel and Abigail have several marriage dates:
May 15, 1785 in Bradford, Essex County, MA
Mar. 14, 1785 in Dracut, Middlesex County, MA
May 15, 1785 (submitter did not include a place)
Alas, Daniel only has one death date: July 1, 1840.
Abigail Atwood has two birth dates:
Abt. 1767 in Kingston, NH
1764 in Bradford, MA
She has three death dates:
July 5, 1846 (submitter did not include a place)
July 4, 1846 in Haverhill, Essex County, MA
July 5, 1846 in Haverhill, Essex County, MA
Abigail's parents are listed as William Atwood and Abigail Unknown
Besides Daniel's multiple birth and marriage dates, he also has two sets of
parents.
One set of parents are:
Daniel Clough, Jr. and Abigail Farnum (both of them have multiple birth
dates)
The other set of parents are:
Jabez Clough b. Apr. 24, 1723 and Sarah Young b. Abt. 1725.
As the son of Daniel Clough and Abigail Farnum this Daniel is listed as
Daniel Clough III. This makes sense since this Daniel's grandfather was Daniel
Clough b. July 19, 1718 who married Elizabeth Galloway.
There is no doubt that several Daniel Clough's could have been born around
the same time within close proximity of each other. We need to sort out
exactly who this Daniel was and why some have attributed his birth to other
parents. We also need to figure out who the second Daniel Clough was.
Any and all assistance with further genealogical research much appreciated!

Jeremiah Clough is not in my ancestry, but it may be of interest to his descendents.
3 - 1876 Political Trade Card JOSEPH CLOUGH

In addition, there are a lot of books written by a Clough.

Jan says that this Joseph Clough doesn't resemble any of the Clough's she knew, so Delete that!
Her maternal grandmother was a Clough from the Garland area.

Thanks, Jo:
This man is not in my wife's ancestry, but I Copied &
Pasted it into a WordPad doc, anyway. In the absence
of any photos in her Clough line, maybe there is a
family resemblance. Who knows?

Apparently, the photo is but one

something that should be saved if

Many thanks to Dean and Martha Clough for bringing
this to my attention!

HI
THIS IS CAPITAL LETTERS STEVE FROM TENN. JUST THOUGHT I WOULD POP IN HERE
FOR A MOMENT TO SAY HELLO.
HOW DID YOU EVER MAKE OUT ON THE NEW BRUNSWICK SEARCH. I COULD GIVE YOU A
COUPLE OF EMAIL ADDRESSES OF SECOND COUSINS WHO MIGHT BE ABLE TO FILL A FEW
GAPS.
STARTING TO FINALLY GET COLDER HERE AFTER ONE HELLACIOUS SUMMER THAT STARTED
EARLY AND DIDN'T SEEM TO WANT TO END. I DETEST SUMMER. GIVE ME THE GOOD OLD
NEW ENGLAND FALL AND WINTER. I KNOW IT IS GOOD FOR THE ENVIRONMENT BUT I SURE
MISS THE SMELL OF BURNING LEAVES. NOW DAYS YOU WILL GET A CITATION FOR IT
HERE.
WELL ENOUGH FOR NOW. DROP A LINE WHEN YOU HAVE A COUPLE MINUTES TO RUB
TOGETHER.
