Beginning March 2nd, 2020 the Mailing Lists functionality on RootsWeb will be discontinued. Users will no longer be able to send outgoing emails or accept incoming emails. Additionally, administration tools will no longer be available to list administrators and mailing lists will be put into an archival state.
Administrators may save the emails in their list prior to March 2nd. After that, mailing list archives will remain available and searchable on RootsWeb
I guess I'm gonna have to get a wiggle on then! I have a bunch of info to
send in on our end of the family!

Hi Sheila, will send you a file with the Cloughs from Brown Co., WI. later today. Want to look it over before sending. I will send the whole Clough/Church file plus put together a little background on their life in Lawrence Twp. My mother has such an interesting family to research with the Clough, Church, Childs, Burt, Evans, Phillips, Snider, etc. families. Let me know what format you would like.
Regards, Gloria

Dear Peg,
Thank you for your interest in the upcoming Clough book. I am still working
on it. Entering all of the data from family members is quite time consuming
and should not be rushed for fear of serious typographical errors.
In the meantime, please be sure that I have your Clough lineage. It is
interesting that you stated in your e-mail that your mother was a Clough from
Ohio and that her great grandfather was William from England. I am certainly
very interested in seeing what your ancestry looks like. :-)
Looking forward to hearing from your directly at my genealogy e-mail address

Hello listers,
I am revisiting my Haseltine ancestor who has been sometimes reported as
having married Abigail Hastings Clough, widow of Josiah Clough.
Abigail Hastings m. Josiah Clough 5 Jan 1743/44 in Salem, Rockingham Co., NH
supposedly she married Daniel Haseltine 10 Oct 1759 in Salem, Rockingham
Co., NH.
Daniel Haseltine and wife Abigail (whoever she is) had 2 children, Daniel b.
21 Sep 1760 and Deliverance b. 29 Dec 1761, both in Salem, Rockingham Co,
NH.
Abigail died before Daniel's 28 Nov 1782 marriage in Haverhill MA to Eleanor
Emerson.
Does anyone have any information on what happened to Josiah Clough's widow,
and what their children's names were. Daniel Haseltine's son Daniel named
one of his sons Phineas Clough Haseltine. All of his children were named
for family members as near as we can tell, so that may be a clue (or not).
Any help would be appreciated, even if it can be proved this is not the
correct woman and Abigail remains a mystery!
Thanks,
Kathy
PS I really want to add some Clough blood to my line! : )
It would be a delight to meet you in person Gloria. Our family has planted
themselves all over this great country and the Annual Meeting of the JCGS
provides a wonderful and rare opportunity for us to connect in person.
Perhaps, until your able to come to the Reunion, you could host a regional
gathering in your corner of the world. If you decide to do so, please let the
Society know so that we can publicize it.

Hi Peg, They are nowhere near ready for printing yet, We hope to have a date
of publication set by this Fall. We will publish all the information in the
Bulletin. Please make sure that our Genealogist has all of your family's
pertinent information.
Thanks for your interest,

First Vice President, Historian,

Hello, I am new to the Clough site. My ggggrandmother is Mary Adelia Clough
married to Ebenezer Benjamin Church. Mary is the daughter of Simon Clough and
Mary Avery. Mary and Ebenezer moved to Brown County, WI, Lawrence Twp., in
1852, stopping in Milwaukee for about six years first. Mary's brothers, Moses
and Isaiah Clough and families also came out. If anyone has any info on Simon
and Mary's famly I have data to share on Mary and Ebenezer and her brothers
and also pictures of them. The book sounds interesting. Some day maybe I can
get to visit with the Clough cousins at a reunion.
Regards, Gloria School Farrell
Cousin Judy,
I hope to see you at the 2006 Reunion, where much discussion will take
place on our latest publication.
Our publication will be done by our own gifted Genealogist Sheila
Anderson for the JCGS and will be sold to any that wish it through the Clough Store.
The JCGS will keep any profits made from the writing, publishing, sales of
this publication. We have too use these profits to pay for writing and
printing, since it is a very expensive process and as a genealogical society we do
not expect profit but enlightenment.
Hopefully I have answered your question, if not please write again.
Earle Clough
President JCGS
Hi all,
I managed to get my class schedule changed and so Sheila and I WILL BE ABLE
TO attend the reunion. I haven't missed one in years and felt terrible at the
thought of not seeing my kin for a whole year. Langdon
It has come to my attention the society is writing a new book or is it
that Shelia is writing a new book??? I would like to know which,,
please. if the society is writing the book is the society getting the
money for the sales? Or is Shelia writing the book for her own
profit?just wondering.Judy
For my own thoughts it would make a difference on offering what
information I have, some from the town vital records, some from prof.
genealogist. please take this a question... thanks
Dear Listers,
Just a reminder that the John Clough Genealogical Society (JCGS) will be
holding this years reunion this coming weekend (July 29, 2006) in Manchester, NH
at the American Canadian Genealogical Society (ACGS) on Elm St. If you
would like to attend and have not already sent in your registration please
contact our treasurer, John R. Clough, immediately at _seapop(a)netzero.net_
(mailto:seapop@netzero.net) .
We have over 250 members in the JCGS so I encourage all who are able to
support the efforts that have been put forth by attending the reunion.
--- My aunt and I will be securing the delivery of some priceless Clough
heirlooms that are in the custody of the Canterbury, NH Historical Society
(hint: signed by a British monarch).
--- I hope to dispense some interesting information that connects Daniel
Webster with the Clough family.
--- I also hope to show just what is entailed in entering the wonderful
genealogical information that is sent to me into my Clough database and show why
it is a time consuming task.
--- I hope to show why I need a team of Society members to do additional
research (sometimes on the ground research, not just Internet research) in order
to assist me in "finishing" the new book.
--- A member of the ACGS will be speaking on how genealogical societies like
ours can stay operational in the next 5, 10, 15 years. Of course, the main
answer to that quandary is SUPPORT.
A lot of work has been put forth to make the upcoming reunion a reality.
Please, let us support the efforts and our Society by attending.
Anyone on this list who is a Clough descendant and NOT a member of the JCGS,
I encourage you to join the JCGS. The annual dues are just $12. Those
meager funds assist in allowing us to have annual reunions, allow us to put out a
quarterly bulletin, and assist in allowing me to send family members
information on their Clough ancestry.
I look forward to seeing as many family members as possible on Saturday!
:-)
Best Wishes,
Sheila Andersen

I am looking for proof that Timothy Clough married Susan Orcutt as
stated in the book. I found the proof that John (his brother) married
Sarah Orcutt. thanks. Judy
