I've "rescued" an old photograph of John & Mattie CLOUGH which was taken at
the W. H. H. Smith Studio in Oskaloosa, Iowa. The photograph appears to
have been taken in the 1880's or 1890's with the two likely in their 20's at
the time. With limited research I was able to locate information regarding
the CLOUGH Family in census records as follows:
1900 census of Spring Creek, IA:
Gowon CLOUGH, age 54, born Sep 1845, married 25 years, born England, parents
born Eng/Wales, to USA 1882, an ? Operator
Frances E. CLOUGH, wife, age 56, born Jan 1843, married 25 years, 6
children/5 living, born England, parents born England, to USA 1883
John M. CLOUGH, son, age 23, born Dec 1877, born England, to USA 1883, a
Miner
Mary E. CLOUGH, dau, age 20, born Aug 1879, born England, to USA 1883
Sarah CLOUGH, dau, age 18, born May 1882, born England, to USA 1883
Margaret J. CLOUGH, dau, age 10, born Sept 1889, born IA, at School
1910 census of Des Moines, IA:
Gowen CLOUGH, age 65, married 35 years, born England, parents born England,
retired
Frances I. CLOUGH, wife, age 66, married 35 years, 7 children/5 living, born
England, parents born England
