Perhaps I should report to you the death of my husband, Donald Robert Clough
on May 18, 2003 in Reno, Nevada where he lived. He descended from John,
John, Moses, Reuben, Jonathan, Josiah, Samuel Adams, Albert Hatch, George Hatch,
and Robert Morill. George, Robert and Don were only children and we had six
daughters so that was the end of our branch with the Clough name. Don was born
June 20, 1927 in Reading, Mass. Millie (Mildred) Clough
Happy Thanksgiving Jackie,
I'll write up something and email it to you tomorrow night. (If you are in
need of stuff to fill the pages, use it, if not it'll keep.)

Hello All
This is the final reminder that any articles for the Dec bulletin need to be
sent to me by Monday the latest. I will have the bulletin done sooner than

Dear Listers,
Just as a correction...
Those of us who descend from John Clough of Salisbury, MA found through DNA
analyses that there is a very high probability that we are, in some way,
related to Sir Richard Clough, although, most likely, not descended from him.
Any Clough's are welcome to chat on this list, especially in hopes of making
connections with others.
Any questions, please feel free to contact me anytime.
Best Wishes To All,
Sheila Andersen

Georgia has some southern Cloughs! However, the ones I know trace back to
the New England area.

To All The Southern Clough's:
I dont know if any of you live near Williamsburg VA, but I used to work in
the colonial town of Williamsburg. And if I am not mistaken there used to be
some Clough's that were original town members back in the early days of
establishment. You might want to check into that. Other big towns of those days were
Jamestown and Yorktown, which might prove fruitful for you as well.
Unfortunately I no longer live in that area and cannot check for you.
BUT....a few years ago when another Clough email was started I did get quite
a bit of information from the members of that list. I will have to go through
it to see if I can find anything from that area for you. I have made myself
a note to check into it when I start going through all my paperwork soon. I
also have some family sheets that mention VA Clough's and will look for those
as well. I cannot promise it will be this weekend, but I can promise that it
will be soon. cousin jackie

No, we are not related to the John Clough of Massachusetts, who have recently
established that they are descendants of Sir Richard Clough of Wales through
DNA testing..I have learned through DNA testing that our "southern" line is
not descended from Sir Richard Clough and thus related to the John Clough group
in Massachusetts. Many of us subscribe to the E-list in hopes of finding
other Southern Cloughs to join our informal network that shares genealogy
information.
Richard Clough Anderson, your ancestor, is descended from the George and
Richard Cloughs of Louisa and Goochland Co., VA, from the 1600s. My gggrandfather
was born in VA in 1820, was orphaned, and I have been trying to find his
ancestors for 30 years. I can share more information with you when I return from
travel in a couple of weeks. If there are other southern Cloughs out there
who subscribe to this e-list and are not already in contact with our informal
network of Southern Cloughs, please let us know. Susan Clough Wyatt
Thank you one and all. I appreciate your thoughts and prayers.
Because I live in AZ and she lived in NH I am unable to make the funeral
bacause of the expense. But I am doing ok, just surprised as I didnt even know
she was sick until the day before she passed on! Jackie

Hi All
I thought I would inform you of the passing of Vern & Sherman Clough's (and
my Aunt) youngest sister Elaine Clough Hodsdon. She passed away this morning
at about 9 am. Elaine was 65 years old. She leaves two children, Shelly (39)
and Michael (45), plus 12 living siblings. Both of her kids are doing as well
as can be expected under the circumstances.
Vern is no longer connected to the internet, and Sherman is still in the
nursing home (and failing very fast) and unable to be on here as well. Both are
still members of the Society.

Thanks to all who sent me information on this couple. I have nothing yet
that proves widow Abigail married my Daniel Haseltine. The Clough book does
mention that she was listed as a widow on the tax rolls until 1759. 1759 is
the year Daniel Haseltine married his mysterious Abigail.
Thanks also to those who sent the list of Clough children, and the person
who questioned the ages of Daniel (1730) and Abigail (1722.) This is
definitely a valid question, but the fact that if it is Abigail Hastings
Clough, a known producer, she would have been about 39 when she married
Daniel, and they only had 2 children.
Any thoughts?

Good Morning Cousins,
This is just a friendly reminder that any articles for the December bulletin
need to be given to me no later than the 1st of December. I will be going
away for the Christmas holiday and I want to get them done and sent before the
15th of the month.
You will notice a change in the bulletins. They will now be on the 8 1/2 by
11 paper and stapled together. With the cost of printing being as high as it
has been the Society has generously purchased a laser printer for me. I have
tried it out and they definitely come out clearer and much neater than if I
had to have them done someplace else on a copy machine.
Sheila, a personal reminder - I will need the names of those folks in the
picture you sent me.
Have a great day! Cousin Jackie
