Administrators may save the emails in their list prior to March 2nd. After that, mailing list archives will remain available and searchable on RootsWeb
Dear Clough Cousins,
Since our Clough ancestry is British, and many of us have a deep love of
Britain, I will continue to periodically post British historical information,
as well as places one may wish to see in Britain today, to this list from my
TouringBritain(a)aol.com address. The dispensing of historical information
will add to the genealogical information that is posted to this list for the
benefit of all signed on. Where appropriate, I will list the source of the
information I dispense to the group.
Please feel free to contact me with any questions or comments.
Best Wishes to All,
Sheila Andersen

Dear Cousins,
According to McAfee.com, an anti-virus program online, this email message
about jdbgmgr.exe is NOT a virus, but a hoax:
<<Hoax Characteristics
This email message is a hoax. jdbgmgr.exe is not a virus. Although, the
jdbgmgr.exe file may become infected by a number of valid viruses (most
commonly W32/Magistr@MM), the details of this hoax message are not based on
actual events.
We're advising users who receive the email to delete the message and not pass
it on as this is how an email hoax propagates.>>
The so-called "Bugbear virus" is NOT a virus. According to McAfee.com, DO
NOT remove this file from your computer.
Your secret cousin,
Linda F.
A virus has been passed on to my computer and my address book has been infected. Since you are in my address book, there is a good chance you will find it in you computer too. I followed the directions below and eradicated the virus easily. The virus is called jdbgmgr.exe, it is not detected by Norton or Mcfee Anti-virus. The virus sits quietly for 14 days before damaging the system. It is sent automatically by e-mails. Here's how to check the virus and get rid of it:
1. Go to Start, Find or Search option.
2. In the file/folder option, type the name jdbgmgr.exe
3.Search you C: drive and all subfolders and any other drives you have.
4. Click "Find Now"
5.The virus has a teddy bear icon in front of it. DO NOT OPEN IT.
6.Go to edit (on the menu bar), choose "select all" to highlight the file without opening it.
7. Now go to File (on the menu bar) and select "Delete". It will then go to the recycle bin.
8. Go to the recycle bin and empty it and delete the file there as well.
IF YOU FIND THE VIRUS, YOU MUST CONTACT ALL THE PEOPLE IN YOUR ADDRESS BOOK, SO THEY CAN ERADICATE IT IN THEIR OWN ADDRESS BOOK. To do this:
1. Open a new e-mail message.
2. Click the icon of the address book next to the "To"
3. Highlight every name and add "BCC"
4. Copy the message enter subject, paste to e-mail, and send
The virus came from the Philippines--I was notified today. Please do this and I'm sorry for the inconvenience.
Dear John,
Most of the individuals on this list do 'sign' at least their names. I, too,
agree that it is a bit rude not to at least 'sign' one's name to e-mail sent
across the list and I would certainly appreciate listers doing so.
Best Wishes,
Sheila Andersen

I have been accessing communication via rootsweb for a few months with some
fascination. During this time I have learned quite a lot. However it would
heighten the experience if contributors would sign their emails with a
little information which would help me put the pieces together.
I.E. Name, location, office if appropriate.
or is there a register I could access.
Many thanks.

Dear Cousins,
If I have to push the dates of our trip up to the Spring or Summer, how many
would still be able to go? I am unable to divulge the reason for such a
possible move in the dates at the moment but I would like to get a heads up
on the number that would still be able to go.
Best Wishes,
Sheila
Dear Cousins,
Hope you all had a nice Christmas Holiday! :-) With New Years just around
the corner, I wish everyone a VERY HAPPY NEW YEAR!
It is about time we had some discussion about next years trip once again.
The dates and some details for the trip are:
- Leaving the US Sept. 15, 2003 to arrive in London the morning of Sept. 16,
2003.
- We will stay in London that first night since we need a meeting point for
all those coming in from different locations on different airlines and London
airports. Please remember that because we won't be landing in London as a
unified group we won't have transportation waiting for us. We will all need
to make our way to our London hotel via taxi's or Underground. If at all
possible, you will want to land at Heathrow since I will be getting us hotel
accommodations on the northwestern side of London.
- Sept. 17 our coach bus will pick us up after breakfast. We will head up to
Oxford and then Chester where we will stay the night.
- Sept. 18 we will leave Chester for Portmeirion, on the western side of
Wales. We will stay there that night. I have written to some of our family
members in Wales about my desire to have as many of our English and Welsh
Clough descendant family members as possible join us for several hours of
association while we are at Portmeirion and Dr. Sykes is with us. These
details will be worked out in the months to follow.
- Sept 19 we will either leave Portmeirion or stay there for another night.
This depends on the price for the rest of the trip.
- After leaving Portmeirion we will stay on the northern Welsh coast for the
remainder of our time in Wales. From there we will conduct the remainder of
our Welsh tour, including having tea at Plas Clough with Ann Davies.
- We will leave Wales Sept. 23 and stay overnight either in Chester or Oxford.
- Sept. 24 we will sight see while heading to our London accommodations for
our last night together as a group.
- Sept. 25 the majority of the group will be returning to the US. Others may
be staying in Great Britain on their own. Since we won't be leaving as a
unified group, we won't have transportation waiting to bring us to the
airports. Taxi's and the Underground will be our options.
If you have any questions, please feel free to contact me. Also, please let
additional family members know of the trip, especially if they are not on
this list.
Final head count is needed by Jan. 15 so please confirm your intentions with
me ASAP. When confirming with me please state whether you will be getting
your own air transportation or whether you would like to join me and leave
from Boston.
Best Wishes,
Sheila
Dear Linda, Sorry you have been sick. Hopeyou are better now. Please send me

Hi Linda. Sorry that you're not feeling well and hope you perk up soon. I
want one of the group pictures and will mail you a check for $5 to pay for
it. Do you think that will be enough to come here? Have a great
Christmas. Love, Becky
Thanks George and Everyone! You have all been so understanding! Happy

Dear Cousins,
I am so sorry it has taken me this long to get back to all of you who want a
copy of this year's family reunion. Too many things going on here, plus I
haven't been well for the past three months, and I am sick yet again.
The cost of a copy of the picture is $1.79 plus postage (I don't know the
cost of that yet.) Because the photos are panoramics and because they only
fit in large photo mailers, I imagine it will cost more for mailers and
postage than for the picture itself. It should be under $5.00, but that is
just a guess. I am only charging for what it costs me to have the picture
made and for the mailer and postage.
That being the case, if you are still interested in purchasing a copy of the
reunion photo, let me know and I will try to get them out to you in January.
Email me with your request and let me know how many photos you would like. I
will include the price with the photo, and you can just send me a check.
HAPPY HOLIDAYS!!
Love from your secret cousin,

Hello Jackie
Just got up on my e-mail after several days of not being able to get my
system to work. Just in cripple mode right now. Jackie don't worry about
being a little late. This time of year is always a drain on a person. Just
enjoy the season and the bulletin will be received when it arrives with the
same enthusiasm and interest.
To all Clough cousins out there, here's wishing you all a wonderful holiday
season.
George
