I have finally located Joshua Cloud's father (James A. Cloud, "of" Lexington County, KY) and his grandfather (Benjamin Cloud, also 'of' Lexington County, KY).
I have 'proven' that Benjamin Cloud and William P. A. Cloud were brothers and that they were both residents of Lexington County as early as the first decade or so of the 1800s. It is also possible that Anderson Cloud of that area is a third brother (or maybe even the father of Ben and William?).
I would now like to know if anyone has any idea where these people might have left to arrive so far west in KY (almost on the Mississippi River) that early in our US history.

I "spoke" too soon -- their surname is transcribed as CLOWDS for 1920 census -- it looks like CLOUDE to me (and it is often written that way -- CLOWD, CLOWDE, CLOUDE and CLOUDESLEIGH are known variants of the surname). See the One Name Study:

Message Board Post:
They are the children of Thomas Chapin CLOUD and Mary Etta BEAM and they are descendants of William CLOUDE who emigrated from England to the American colonies in 1682 with William PENN and settled in Delaware / Pennsylvania.
I have the family of Thomas and Mary CLOUD at:
http://mykindred.com/cloud/TX/getperson.php?personID=I66378&tree=mykindred01
... but I didn't have all the children or the dates until I began digging today. ... and I still can't find much.
Has anyone found them in any census after 1910?
I found Mary's surname of the marriage license of their son Zanard Thomas CLOUD, b. 10-6-1915 Hopkins, ILL. He married Lucinda GOINS b. 3-5-1922 Lancaster, KY on 8-15-1942 in Bartholomew cty, IN. Lucinda is the d/o John GOINS and Maggie Margaret BAKER.
If anyone can supply more information, e.g. dates and places as well any missed names, that would help.

My mother, Helen Cloud Morgan was a sibling to Opal, Donald and the rest.
She died in 1951 when I was 2 years old.
I never knew her or her family history.
I have spent a great part of my life trying to find information and to verify what I do have.
Please please respond so we can begin a dialogue.
Thank you so very much
