My daughter, Kevon, has also been researching the Cloud line. She is a descendant of Mary Elizabeth Cloud also. You may contact her at kevonhardin(a)hotmail.com to collaborate materials. She has so little on the other children of Mary Elizabeth and Robert Jason Buchanan.
Mary Elizabeth Cloud's father was Stephen (Steven) Rutherford Cloud, born 3 MAY 1832 in Logan Co., KY. and Nancy Hickman. Little is known at this time of Nancy Hickman, other than her death about 1864 in Logan Co., KY.
Stephen Rutherford Cloud died 26 JUL 1916 in Arapaho, Custer Co., OK. His father was John Buck Cloud born 4 JUN 1807 in Logan Co., KY; died 8 AUG 1840 in Logan Co., KY.
This information is verified by Kevon Hardin at the above e-mail address. I hope this information is helpful and you are very welcome to contact her directly.

Thank you for the information on the auction. I've made a bid and hope to
obtain these items for the archives of the Cloud Family Association. If
anyone else is bidding from the Association please let me know so we aren't
running the price up on each other. Larry Cloud

Amen, amen, amen. Man I found this so distasteful myself and I am glad that others felt the same way, because I didn't know for sure whether or not I was just feeling that way because I was a Cloud. But, I can just think what my father would have said if he were alive today. I just wish that he was to be able to see and hear all about what is being done to make people aware of all the ancestors and what they did. I guess in all families there are rogues as well and pastors and doctors, lawyers , etc. Just think about the mothers who aren't getting what I think is recognition because of being able to do the DNA thing. I am still in the dark about all of this, but I am still learning.

I wrote and advised them of the association web page and asked them to
make contact to discuss what they have and what they expect to charge. I
appreciate them making us aware of the records and I certainly expect someone
to recover their costs. But advertising on rootsweb to the Cloud family
that you're going to sell family records on e-bay is distasteful no matter how
you spin the business angle. A family bible isn't a Tiffany lamp or a
beanie baby. This isn't antiques road show. They should have simply asked to
be contacted by anyone who might be interested in the items. I'll be
happy to discuss purchasing all the Cloud items they plan to put on ebay and
donate them to the Association archives if the material is original and
authentic and deemed by expert association historians to be of value to the
family records. I'm a businessman too and I don't tell my customers I found
their wallet and they can bid for it on ebay. LC

You're going to sell Cloud family records on E-bay? Why don't you
contact
the Cloud Family Association and see if there isn't a more appropriate
way
to make these items available to the Cloud family?

You know that is what I thought. Why would anyone other than a member of
the Cloud family be buying things that wasn't even their family. I hope that
someone can obtain them I wish I could but finances prevent that from
happening.

Why not simply thank the individual for notifying members of the Cloud
family. .
The items may have been part of an estate purchased by a dealer who is in
that business.
No one knows what this individual paid for the iterms. And no one is
obligated to purchase
these items. Would we rather the association not be advised ? At least
this individual
recognized that the items might have a special value to members of the
Cloud family.
How is this any different from individuals who recommend tspecific books
genealogical
books that relate to the family? I haven't seen anyone giving them away.
That's about
money too.

That's about
money too.

Why not simply thank the individual for notifying members of the Cloud family. .
The items may have been part of an estate purchased by a dealer who is in that business.
No one knows what this individual paid for the iterms. And no one is obligated to purchase
these items. Would we rather the association not be advised ? At least this individual
recognized that the items might have a special value to members of the Cloud family.
How is this any different from individuals who recommend tspecific books genealogical
books that relate to the family? I haven't seen anyone giving them away. That's about
money too.

Message Board Post:
A number of years ago I purchased from a local estate here in Maryland numerous items pertaining to the "CLOUD" and collateral "FERREE, SEIP, MATSON, and POTTS" families. The items consist of original early family record pages removed from Bible, photographs, silhouettes, manuscript letters and documents, printed materials, etc., mostly from the 1800's. The items appear to have descended from Rev. Robert Cloud through his son Jesse Cloud, through Jesse's daughters Elizabeth "Lizzie" (Cloud) Seip and Amanda Jane (Cloud) Seip, and so on.
These items will be offered at auction on EBay. Several have already been written up but won't be released until sometime in September or October. Many of these items are very desirable to general collectors other than family members.
I thought it was only right to notify the Cloud's and collateral families of these offerings, should any family member have an interest in trying to obtain original objects of their heritage.
Family may wish to post this on your family site or notify family members who may have interest in this material.
Should anyone have any questions regarding this material or wish to be notified when the items are released for auction on EBay, please do not hesitate to contact me by direct email at annearundelhouse(a)yahoo.com or mailing address P.O. Box 190, Linthicum Heights, MD 21090-0190.
Please include your e-mail address so I can forward auction information when material is released.
Sincerely,
Dave Mark / Anne Arundel House Antiques

Cloud researchers,
Jesse Whitmer Cloud was born Jul.14,1806 in PA (Chester Co.?). Jesse was married in PA to Evelina about 1826 and 3 girls were born: Hester Cloud (married William Venables), Ann Cloud (married Daniel Cockern) and Evaline M. Cloud (married (1) Nathan Knott and (2) William Manford Snoddy.
After Jesse 1st wife (Eveline) died Oct.19,1832 in Lancaster Co.,PA, Jesse married Jane (Nelson) about 1833 in PA. Jesse and Jane (Nelson) with the 3 children he had by his 1st marriage, moved to Franklin Co.,IN about 1835.
Jesse and Jane (Nelson) had 3 more children and Jane (Nelson) must had died after childbirth. She died Mar.7,1840 in Franklin Co.,IN.
Jesse Whitmer Cloud had at least 6 children when he married the third time to Litisha Boling in Jan.9,1844 in Rush Co.,IN.
Litisha Boling (Dec.20,1815-Jan.15,1876), was born in Mercer Co.,KY. Litisha and her parents came to Rush Co.,IN about 1822.
Jesse and Litisha had at lest 7 children in the Franklin/Rush Co.,IN area. Jesse W.Cloud and Litisha (Boling) Cloud are burried in Hopewell Cemetery, Rush Co.,IN.
I have been trying for years to find anything on Jesse's parents, brothers, sisters, ect. His middle name "Whitmer", I thought would give me some hint. I've had most of the data on him since 1981. Any cousins out there???

My two cents worth: I see 4 sets of dna prints, one to Robert/Joseph and
three to Jeremiah. We can't all be from Jeremiah. I know we are probably to
tired and out of time to search? But I do know we are all probably
R1b1a2a1a4. It is ancient and rare. The dna people have no idea, where,
when, or how, it originated but they know that 80% of R1b is from the U.K.
Stonehenge here we come, ha ha?

CLOUD b. 1710 PA) and realized the data implies he is descended from the son
Robert, and that would be a misinterpretation of the data. The data
"implies" that, but it does not prove it, as three of William's five sons
are not represented in our project. It is very possible Joseph is descended
from William as the family researchers believe, or one of the other two
missing sons.

I am also searching for any info on this Cloud family because Henrietta was
my grandmother, she married Cornelius Malone and together they had two
daughters, their daughter "Suellen" was my mother. I do have some old photos
that grandma Henrietta saved but there is no info on them except on the back
of one picture in her own handwriting it states "I think this is my father".
I do know that Henry Harrison Cloud is buried in the Dayton National
Cemetery but I to am still searching for earlier information about him.
Henrietta met my grandfather Cornelius at the Xenia Soldiers Home so I want
to know the story about why they grew up in the orphanage and also why
everything was so secretive so maybe we could compare the info that we have
& find a connection somewhere.
