How do I look up that census that you were talking about? I remember her name after I sent that message. Only I just remember them calling her Gertie, which I sure is just a nickname for Gertrude. Thank you.

Jennie was on the 1910 census and I think died about 1912.

Betty,
If you'll follow the link I sent, the census is transcribed and there is a citation listing where it can be found.

Thought I would pass this along...
Received a link to the PA Treasury site for unclaimed freight from my state
representative and searched generically on CLOUD for fun. There's quite
a bit of unclaimed property in Pennsylvania under CLOUD. It might be worth
everyone taking two minutes to see if they have anything out there. The
link is _www.patreasury.org_ (http://www.patreasury.org)
Hope you get a hit!

I have new information about the family of Ellen Cloud of Marshall County, KY. There is conclusive evidence that she is the Ellen Cloud who was listed as wife of James A. Cloud with son Jackson (age 1) found on the Livingston Co, KY census. James A. Cloud was the son of Benjamin W. Cloud and Lucinda Fox.
According to the death certificate of Ellen and James's daughter, Anne Cloud Beard, Ellen's maiden name was Stevens and she was 'from Nashville, TN.'
I have found a female, age 8, named Ellen Stephens, listed on the 1850 census of Livingston Co, KY with what appear to be several siblings, ages 15 to 1, in the household of Augustus Davis (40) and his wife Mary (40) and another female age 18. I'm now wondering if perhaps Augustus was previously married and had an 18-year-old daughter; Mary was previously married and was the mother of the several Stephens children; and Augustus and Mary were recently married (note youngest Stephens child was only 1-year-old).
Can anyone help?

Help. Do you know what family Henry J. Cloud belongs to?
Henry Cloud was born March 1837 (1900 census) in North Carolina.
For 1880 census, Hadley, Chatham cty, NC he is married to Mary who was b. ca 1833 NC.
In 1900 he is married to Nancy "Nannie" McCracken b. Mar. 1877. His mother-in-law, Lettie McCracken (b. June 1866) is living with them (he is 29 years older than his mother-in-law).
Henry and Nannie McCracken have at least two children:
- Fluttie, daughter, b. June 1898 Chatham cty
- Ernest Cloud b. May 5, 1903 and d. Aug. 4, 1919, both events in Revolution Mills, Guilford cty, NC.
I got started on this because I found Ernest's death certificate. There is an anomaly on it -- his age at death, from the dates, is 16, but he is listed as being 6 years old. He definitely died in 1919, so he may have been born in 1913 rather than 1903.
I cannot find Henry J. Cloud (1837 NC) anywhere but the 1880 census and the 1900 census -- both in Hadley, Chatham cty, NC.
thanks,
Tom
