I have looked in the Cloud Family Association Journal and find several entries for your Squire Cloud. I believe they are all in Vol. 6 (pp 90 & 97) and are from Dee Ann Lamb's files. They are all from the state of Alabama and list the counties and dates the people lived there.
I mention the Cloud Family Association Journal because, thought there are only a few entries for Squire, it might have other valuable clues for you. It is available on CD and is searchable.
http://homepages.rootsweb.com/~cloud/http://mykindred.com/cloud/
Also -- is there a Cloud male in your line? If so, he could join the Cloud DNA Project and that might give you some valuable clues as to what family branch he belongs to. The project can be found at:
http://mykindre.com/cloud/dna/
I have nothing on your family but would like to include them with the other Cloud families at the mykindred.com web site. You may contact me by writing to me at my contact email address or to webmaster at mykindred.com (replace the 'at' with '@').

Adrian, Hi! I was given a copy of the photos of you and your family, and I loved the one of Robert Squire Cloud at the blacksmith shop! Dwane and I speak and see each other rather regularly, and he indicated you would not be coming to Alabama. I was so looking forward to meeting you and your family, but I certainly understand.
If you will provide me your e-mail address, we can "converse" a little more. You may reach me at Godsyoungun(a)gmail.com
I look forward to hearing from you, as Dwane has told me he has spoken with you often.
Best regards,
Marilyn

Tom,
I may visit the cemetery where at least two of these graves are located
in a couple of weeks. Does your source of information provide locations
for graves of John and/or Laura? I am quite familiar with the other
locations.

Message Board Post:
I've found 65 trees on ancestry and one on worldconnect.rootsweb.com which say that the parents of Jeremiah Cloud born circa 1784 in Twiggs cty Ga (and d. 1861 in Austin cty, TX) are a William Cloud and Elizabeth Bailey.
Some of these trees even list Elizabeth Bailey as his wife????
Both William Cloud and Elizabeth Bailey allegedly died around 1750 and never left Pennsylvania so far as I know. They were both dead over 30 years before Jeremiah was born.
There are probably more instances than the 65 I found -- I searched for Jeremiah Cloud born in Georgia and probably missed some.
Some of these sites have Jeremiah's wife as Elizabeth Wilkins -- that was first suggested by Leonard Cloud and then by Byron. Geraldine Talley, Gary Thomas Cloud and myself and others have wandered around Austin county looking for the tombstones of Jeremiah and Elizabeth and for a purported Wilkes cemetery but never found them. Other than the suggestion by Leonard and others there is not a shred of evidence (that I know of) to suggest Elizabeth's surname was Wilkes.
Some have extra children -- e.g. a Reuben or Ruben Cloud. Where did this come from? I don't know of anyone by this name anywhere in the family of Jeremiah Cloud of Twiggs cty, GA.
Please correct me if you have proofs for any of this.
Please try to verify data -- information taken from the web is often wrong.

Tom,
All except John are my family. You may recall the story: Laura Frances
left Texas after her husband, Justice of the Peace J. W. J. Cloud was
killed. They are my great-grandparents. With her were son James Ross
Cloud (my grandfather who died when I was a few months old) and daughter
Willie Cloud, who married Howell Murphree. James Ross Cloud married
Howell's little sister, Frances Murphree (my grandmother).
John Cloud apparently died while my Cloud ancestors were still in Texas.
Jeremiah and his kids all lived across the Alabama River in Montgomery
County earlier in the 19th century. John may be related to them or to
the Jeremiah T. Cloud or other Clouds in the area. We might wonder how
J. W. J. met Frances, who lived across the river. She and her sisters
had an upstairs bedroom with its only entrance up a stairway in the
parents bedroom (as the story goes). I wonder if J.W.J. might have been
visiting a "Cousin John" (would make a good story but is pure fiction).

I'm working through Cloud tombstones and have four in the Oak Hill Cemetery in Prattville, Autauga county, AL:
Frances Murphree Cloud (1889-1967)
James R. Cloud (1883-1935)
John Cloud (????-1851)
Laura Frances Cloud (1846-1923)
I know all of these are descendants of Jeremiah Cloud b. ca 1784 in Twiggs cty, GA. ... all but John Cloud ??
Who is this John Cloud? He died in 1851.
This makes me think that John Cloud (???? - 1851) was related, but his death date of 1851 means he'd have to be a brother to James W.J. Cloud, i.e. a son of H.G.W.
I have an unnamed infant son for H.G.W. -- born ca 1850 that fits, but the data indicates he was born in Austin cty, TX and not AL (H.G.W. was in TX by 1840).
Any ideas appreciated.

Does anyone recognize this lady?
Catherine Elizabeth Cloud GRETNA - Catherine Elizabeth Cloud, 54, a Gadsden County School Board employee, died Thursday, Sept. 18, 2008, in Gretna. The service will be at 11 a.m. EDT Saturday, Sept. 27, at Beulah Hill Missionary Baptist Church, with burial at Springfield Cemetery. Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. EDT Friday at Madry Memorial Funeral Chapel in Quincy (850-875-2665).
Her husband's name appears to be Keith Cloud -- perhaps even Melvin Keith Cloud (a Melvin Keith Cloud married 1999 in Leon cty, FL but don't know who the bride was).
I have new information (for me) regarding Daniel William Cloud, the son of John Buck Cloud and Elizabeth Rutherford -- and some questions.
First, his middle name appears to be "Wellington" rather than William -- per his obituary (see below).
Second question -- his obituary refers to three living children:
1 - P.T. Cloud, San Pedro, CA
2 - J.A. Cloud, Tucson, AZ
3 - Elva Cloud of Arlington, Riverside cty, CA
This regards the third child:
I find an Elva Cloud, female, HOH with son Frank in Riverside cty, CA. CA death index indicates her father's surname was WELLINGTON (note Daniel's middle name, per his obit, is WELLINGTON). Elva is widowed by 1910 (haven't found the family in 1900) so don't know her husband's name.
... Frank's name, per his WW-I registration, is Frank Hickman Cloud (Daniel Wellington/William Cloud's wife's name was Catherine Hickman).
... Frank, on his WW-I registration says he was b. Altona, Bates cty, MO. Bates cty is where Daniel Wellington Cloud and wife Catherine Hickman's children were born.
Below are Daniel's obituary and a descendant list for the Elva (Wellington) Cloud family who lived in Riverside cty, CA.
I believe the Mrs. Elva Cloud family belongs to Daniel Wellington Cloud and Catherine Hickman, but can't prove it -- any help appreciated. (Note that Daniel and Catherine had a daughter named Elveretta "Elva" Cloud born 1871 Bates cty, MO, so Mrs. Elva Cloud may actually be the daughter of Daniel and Catherine.)
Obituary:
DANIEL W. CLOUD DEAD
Daniel WELLINGTON Cloud, son of Mr. and Mrs. John Cloud, was born April 23, 1834, and departed this life after a long illness, January 13, 1924. He was born in Kentucky and came in early life to Missouri and has long been a resident of Bates County. He was married to Katherine Hickman April 23, 1855. To this union seven children were born: four having gone before, and the three remaining are: P.T. Cloud, San Pedro, California; J.A. Cloud, Tucson Arizona; and Elva Cloud of Arlington California. Mrs. Katherine Cloud died in 1880.
He was married a second time to Catherine E. (Brown) Owen, December 22, 1881. To this union was born one child, Leo, who died at the age of one year. Mr. Cloud had been a Free Mason for many years and at his death was a member of Crescent Hill Lodge No. ?? of Adrian Mo., which lodge conducted his burial service.
He was converted at sixteen and joined a Baptist church and at the time of his death was a deacon in the Altona Baptist church where his funeral was held. Burial in the Altona cemetery.
Of our Brother Cloud we shall miss him, but he leaves us a heritage of a long life of honesty, simplicity, fidelity and uprightness before God and man. He met his brethren on the level, lived by the plumb and parted on the square.
He was conservative in money, thought and deed, a much needed lesson by this spendthrift, thoughtless and criminal age. A good man has gone; though he suffered intensely, as usual, he was patient and uncomplaining. He leaves two sons, one daughter, his aged, frail and faithful companion and other relatives and friends.
Adrian Journal, 1924
