This man had a brother, John M Cloud, b 1872, Missouri. They are found in the 1880 census in Courtois, Crawford, Missouri, listed as orphans living with George and Elizabeth Cochran. George Cloud had four sons who are listed in the 1920 census in South Cashmere, Chelan, Washington. Does anyone know who George and John's parents were?

Cloud Cousins -- Near, Distant, and Virtual:
The Cloud Family Gathering in Huntsville over the weekend of 18-20 July
is rapidly approaching, and the deadline for claiming discounted rooms
at the "gathering" hotel is even nearer. Reservations need to be made at
the Holiday Inn in Downtown Huntsville by 26 June to be assured the
discounted rate of $80 (plus tax). Call 1-800-HOLIDAY OR 256-533-1400.
(After 26 June, call the 256-533-1400 number during normal business
hours and ask for "local reservations" to see if Gennifer can extend the
deadline for you. That is not a safe bet. The hotel is already full for
the days before our meeting starts.)
Most of the "DeClouding" researchers are arriving on 16 or 17 June and
staying at the Comfort Inn at Wallace State College in Hanceville (60
miles south of Huntsville). At last report there were still rooms
available there and at other hotels in Huntsville.
For registration and/or more information see;
http://homepages.rootsweb.ancestry.com/~cloud/2008-reg.htm
If this catches you by surprise, I apologize for not getting a personal
invitation to you earlier; but, there are a lot of Clouds to cover and
it is not too late to take advantage of this opportunity to meet with
Clouds from across the continent to share information and to learn about
the Cloud Y-DNA Project and other recent developments.
These meetings are open to everyone interested in Cloud history and
genealogy. Membership in the Cloud Family Association is encouraged but
not required for participation in meetings and projects. Both
participation and membership are open to everyone with a Cloud interest
without regard to family line, geographic origin, or ethnic background.
Please consider meeting with other Clouds for the weekend, an extended
weekend, or just the Saturday (19 July) events!

Robin,
You may have sent the wrong SSN to Social Security Administration.
Clarence E. Rhinehart is listed twice in the SSN index - once with the No.
535-01-9524 and again with the No. 535-01-9534. I suggest that you
request the records of Clarence E. Rhinehart, SSN 535-01-9534. He applied
for his SSN in Washington State prior to 1951.
Clarence was living with his parents, Albert E. and Mary Rhinehart, in
Chelan County, WA when the 1910 census was taken. He had a brother, Henry,
born in 1907. Clarence was still living with his parents in the same area
when the 1920 census was taken but Henry was not listed with the family. I
haven't found a SSN record on Henry so I'm wondering if he might have died
between 1910 - 1920. Albert didn't marry until he was about 33. It
appears that he and Mary only had the two children.

Robin Rhinehart got her dad to take a DNA test. It was a surprise to her when it turned out to be an exact match for some in our CLOUD project. She contacted me and, after looking at the data, I invited her to join our project.
Robin is new to genealogy and is wanting a little help. I've done everything I know to help her, but maybe some of you can help her in ways I couldn't.
One thing she needs is to find a paternal relative to her dad's line so that she can get a DNA sample from one of those men. The purpose of this is to prove that her father is NOT related to that Rhinehart line.
I have looked for Reinhardt/Reinhart/Rhinehart/Rinehart DNA projects and found one at FTDNA, but there is no data shown there.
I found three Reihnardt/Reinhart/Rinehart samples at SMGF.
http://www.smgf.org/ychromosome/search.jspx
Unfortunately, there is no way to contact the people who test through SMGF. So what I've done is put their data in a display just like our Cloud results page:
http://mykindred.com/cloud/dna/results/rhinehart-report.php
Robin's line is the two Family Tree DNA kits at the top and the comparison shows just what I was expecting -- her paternal DNA profile is very different from all the others.
This is inconclusive though -- the three kits shown on that page might not be related to her grandfather Rhinehart (they're not even related to each other). She needs to find a male Rinehart related to her grandfather Rhinehart to test so that she can know for certain that her line is NOT from that line.
I believe she has enough evidence right now to show that her paternal lineage is CLOUD, but proving that her paternal line is not related to her grandfather's line would add another level of certainty to that.
You can see how her line matches with the CLOUD line at:
http://mykindred.com/cloud/dna/results/cdnareport.php
Please welcome Robin to this Cloud email forum and, if you can, see if you can help her out.
Tom
Cousins,
I recommended that Robin join this list and ask her question -- I'm hoping someone can help her. Basically, she got a SSN and the application she got from the SSA does not match either the SSDI or the death certificate.
Does anyone have any experience with SSA problems -- maybe give Robin some clue as to where to look for help?
Tom

Act for Clarence Rhinehart, b 1901, Iowa, d 1980, Spokane, Washington. The SSN
on the SS Death Index and on the Certificate of Death is 535-01-9524. I got the
Certificate of Death using the SSN from the SS Death Index. I got the
application and it is the wrong name. The number is correct. It belongs to Frank

This E-mail probably is unnecessary, but I'm writing it anyway. The
family of my other lines has a DNA project underway, and the
coordinator offered to share their results with me - the presentations
are pathetic in comparison to those of the Cloud project and I want to
go on record to thank and congratulate Tom Cloud on the obviously
extraordinary effort and time he is and has devoted to our project,
with excellent support from a number of other Clouds. Best regards to
all, Al Cloud.
