Thank you for the reply, Tom. I don't know the mechanics of modern genealogy work and exchange, except that boy, the web sure helps us avoid reinventing the wheel!
It just seemed that from the detail of information about Kenneth's immediate families (and the correct counts and genders of his anonymous descendants) that someone who'd known the family might have submitted the information. Some Clouds remain close-knit in MI, so I wondered who might have pulled the information together.
I am considering membership in the CFA, and am interested in that CD of back journal issues. I will certainly submit my email to you at mykindred.

Sarah,
I maintain the mykindred site but I can't tell you who submitted that data. It may have been me or another Cloud family researcher (Lura Black, among others, helps me a lot). Usually I list the contributor unless it's me or Lura, and then I note the genealogical sources, but often times the source either isn't known or is omitted.
I would like to have your email address. If you'll email the webmaster at mykindred.com or click on the "Suggest" tab on one of the pages there, I'll get your email.
I'd also like to invite you to join the Cloud Family Association. There is also an email group at rootsweb. You can find out about these opportunities at the Cloud Family Association site:

I wanted to thank whoever linked my grandfather, Kenneth Melvin Cloud in Hart, MI, to all the data the Cloud geneaologists have gathered on mykindred.com. It was fascinating to discover just how far back we can trace "our" branch of the Cloud name now!
I'm also wondering who you are, mysterious geneaologist -- are you someone my family might know? I'm Sarah (Cloud) Pterson, first daughter of Gary Cloud, who is the first son of Kenneth and Eliene.

Lura (and everyone),
I apologize -- I misstyped -- Dwayne was born and died in 1932 (the "27" came because I was struck by the fact that he was born on the 27th of one month and died on the 27th of the next). The tombstone can be seen here:
http://mykindred.com/cloud/TX/headstones/MO/Christian/PoncedeLeon/Cloud,D...
All the tombstones I have at this time for the Ponce de Leon Cemetery can be seen here:
http://mykindred.com/cloud/TX/showmap.php?cemeteryID=57&tree=mykindred01
(Please send me any other headstones you have for Cloud families and their relatives.)
WRT the people in the census -- John B. is a son of Calvin Cloud (Atlas Cloud's uncle) and Ralph is John's son.
I don't know who the Earnest/Ernest G./C. Cloud is, or his parents Gust/Gist and Lessie Cloud ... does anyone else know?
Tom

James Reed Cloud was born circa 1825, supposedly in Tennessee. 1880 census gives his and his parents' birth state as Missouri. He died before the 1900 census.
Also in 1880 a nephew is living with him -- James Robbinson b. circa 1855 and listed with the same birth states as James -- all MO.
In 1870 there is a Capitina Cloud living with his family, supposedly born 1830 in TX.

Connie,
I have some information at http://mykindred.com/ ... but I have your g-grandfather's name as Poley. I will change that soon.
I also see you are working on Strother and Willis ... your line and mine may intersect in another area as well -- look at the mykindred site and see if you recognize anyone from those families there.
You can send me an email by writing webmaster at mykindred.com or clicking on the "Suggest" tab there.
