I would like ANY information anyone can send me about
Andrew J. (is that for Jackson?) CLOUD.
He was listed as one year old on 1860 census of Marshall Co, KY and as 11 years old on 1870 census of same county. I have not been able to find any later information.

Attempting to find the link between these families:
Emily E. PUMPHREY is living with David M. CLOUD on the 1880 ?? county, AR census.
She is listed as "aunt widowed", and her three children are listed as "cousin".
She is Emily Elizabeth TATUM b. 3-1-1841 in Georgia. Her husband, Francis Marion Pumphrey apparently died before 1880 and she and their three children are living with David Madison Cloud and his wife, Martha H. CHASTAIN. Their children are:
1 - Annie E. Pumphrey, b. ca 1868 AR
2 - Nathan Haley Pumphrey b. Sept. 1870
3 - Ora P. Pumphrey, b. ca 1876, AR
I feel like the link is through the CHASTAIN line (David's mother-in-law), maining that she is Martha's aunt. Her parents were John Nicholson Chastain (or perhaps Benjamin Lafayette Chastain) and Elizabeth SELF.
These people, and their relatives can be seen at:

David M. Cloud is at

Emily Elizabeth Tatum Pumphrey is at

If you know anything about either of these families, please let me know.

Noah's mother was Mary Lula Brack of Newton County, Texas and she return to Texas after his death where she later died. Jerry and Mary Lula resided a short time in Newton County, Texas before coming to Louisiana. His father was shot in 1901 off his horse on hi way home near Oakdale from work and Noah, one of his sons, witnessed the shooting. Living descendants still reside in Oakdale. Email me if this sounds like your Noah.

Ken, at 70 you probably have a long way to travel. I am 84 and did not
touch a computer until I was 80. My husband of 60 years went peacefully home to
our heavenly father on May 3 at the age of 83 and 1/2 years. Olive Nabors
Dear Ken,
This really sucks in a big way! I just wanted to reiterate that I, who
have depended on you over the years to serve as a most amazing clearance
center for Cloud research data, greatly appreciate your role as the Cloud clan's
Herodotus (famous ancient Greek historian and storyteller), and to declare
now how much I lament the necessity of your new role, that of the Cloud
family's Lancelot du Lac (the greatest of King Arthur's knights, slayer of all
evil). I cannot believe some idiot is bent on destroying the work of innocent
strangers.
Thanks for making your website and thanks for defending it!

Hi Ray & Tom
Thank you for your response. I was researching the family of Jacob DYE with wife Mary RANDOLPH DYE. Jacob Die/DYE was in Lunenburg County, Virginia 1756 Mill Creek of Mayo River, adjoining Clouds line. A Robert Barret was living next to Joseph Cloud and adj. Randolphs line.
To heck if I could find where was this Mill Creek of Mayo River. So, I thought that I would look for where did Joseph Cloud go....I found a Joseph Cloud on Mill Creek of Mayo River Deed Book I, 1791-1801 Patrick County, VA still with a RANDOLPH/RANDOLP family. Now I am trying to identify this RANDOLPH Family.
Sending my notes for your review. Thanks....

Donna
Then remembering that Halifax Co. was the first division off of Lunenburg I looked for DYE/DIE and here's the result:
Patent Book 32, p. 710
230 acres to Jacob Dye, both sides of Mill Creek, a branch of Mayo River
March 10, 1756
Patent Book 34, p. 10
150 acres to Jacob Die, both sides Mill Creek, a branch of Mayo River
adjoining Cloud
March 10, 1756
[note: Cloud was name of adjoining land owner]
So this Jacob got 380 acres of vacant land from the King in 1756. I would expect you would find these patents along with a survey on the web of the Library of Virginia. Also, I would suppose this Jacob was an adult of 21 or thereabouts, making his birth date at least around 1735 or so.

Who is this family? Any further information would be appreciated. (I have information on the living children if anyone is interested, but will not post them to this public list).
I can't find James Lee T. Cloud on any census -- since Dorothylee was born 1932, I assume he may have married after the 1930 census and may have been born circa 1910, but I don't know where.
