I am looking for the family of Edgar Lucien WHEELER m. Jennie Lee
CLOUD(my maternal Grandaunt, my maternal Grandmother's sister)
29 June 1896.
They had two daughters:
Louise Cloud Wheeler, dob 12 December 1902
Evelyn Francis Wheeler, dob 29 December 1903
The daughters are my maternal First Cousins once removed.I don't
recall if there were any other children or not.
I remember going to West End, a suburb of Atlanta, GA to play with
Louise and Evelyn's daughter's, Jane and Martha, who were about my
age. I don't remember who Evelyn or Louise married or who their
daughters married. Over the years and many moves, I lost touch with
them.
Now starting to do maternal colateral families, I was wondering if
anyone on the CLOUD-List has any information concerning this
CLOUD/WHEELER line and their ancestors/descendents..
Would 'preciate any help possible.
Thank you,

Ken,
I vote for John being the probable son of Mordecai and Rhoda Richard
Cloud who married in 1753. This John married about 1797 to Ann McGuigen. He
is therefore of an age to be a son of Mordecai/Rhoda.
Mordecai and Sarah Chadd married in 1714 and I believe the John in
question, if a son of Mordecai/Sarah, would be much too old to have married
Ann McGuigen 83 years later and have a large family in the early 1800s.
See Cloud Family Journal XVI-2 page 41 for an article submitted on this
John by Jim Brewton.
Harley Cloud
Hope someone outthere can shed some light on this.
I have John Cloud b abt 1770 VA, Marr Ann McGuigen as the son of Mordecia Cloud and Rhoda Richards. Another person has submitted to me that he is the son of Mordecia Cloud and Sarah Chads.
If you can add to this please do. Need to determine just how it should be.
Thanks
Ken Cloud

Saw your post. I am new at this.
I have an ancestor on my paternal grandmother's side who was named Bayles (Spelling?) Cloud Barton. Could be my grandma's father. My grandmother was named Maud Barton and was born in Texas in 1889.
I would appreciate any info you have on these persons.
Best Regards,
Craig
I am not actually a Cloud researcher, but found this information while
researching Orleana Cloud's son who married my relative. Am providing
this information for the information of Cloud researchers.
Per data on Ancestry.com, Orleana Cloud was a daughter of Jacob Cloud
and Mary Huddleston, and married Pleasant Hodges 1848 Claiborne Co. TN,
son of James Hodges and Mary Barton. Per the census, Orleana was born
anywhere from 1826 to 1829. Her middle name was Jamima (per the 1870
census, which names her as Jamima O.); so, she was either Orleana Jamima
or Jamima Orleana.
I have Pleasant and Orleana on the census from 1850 through 1880,
showing a migration pattern of TN to KY to TX. The census info is given
below, and shows the names of their children. Their son Robert Moore
Hodges (b.1872) married my relative Minnie Summers in McLennan County,
TX in 1900, and he died in 1918, probably in Dallas, Texas. I assume
that Pleasant and Orleana's other older son Robert N. b.1850 died young,
since they named another son Robert in 1872. Robert M. Hodges (b.1872)
lost his hearing due to meningitis and enrolled in 1889 at the Texas
School for the Deaf in Austin. His school records there say he was born
in Kentucky 3-8-1872 and that his father was P.M. Hodges of Tenn. who
was living in Mineral Wells, Texas at the time. I don't know what
happened to Robert Moore Hodges' parents or siblings after 1880. I
believe in 1900 he was in Ft. Worth, Texas, and in 1910 I have him on
the census in Dallas, Texas.
Census Data:
1850 Claiborne Co. Tn, p.305, 7th Subdv., 10-18-1850, #__/922:

Willie B. HODGES, 13 Ky Tn Tn;

Hope this helps.

Ann, I don't Elizabeth Ann CLOUD or Matthew Franklin HICKS in my data. I did find her on "FamilySearch.Org"and "World Connect." Both listed her as being born in Beinville Parish, LA. I would suggest looking for her on the census. There are sooo many Clouds in Georgia that I couldn't begin to tell you where to look, but the 1920 and 1930 census is indexed. FamilySearch.Org has the 1880 census indexed. Find their children on one of the indexes and it should give you clues as where to look. Linda

Harvey "Pete" (Cloud) Black died this week. As I have heard thru the
grapevine, he was diagnosised with leukemia. He was 90 years old. He died a
sad man since he is/was on the 'outs' with his youngest (and only living)
sister. He did not have it in his heart to forgive, even though she tried
several times. His services were today. He will be buried at Whitebead,
Garvin County, OK. He was descended from Jeremiah Cloud.
Lura Black
I have an Elizabeth Ann Cloud married to Matthew Frank Hicks 1/13/1886. They
had nine children
