I have a couple of questions for you. Is your name James C. Cloud, Jr.? If so,did you ever live in Knox and Grainger Co. in Tenn.? Please answer ASAP!!
Jeremiah Cloud was one of three boys.(or had three boys) His brother John
Cloud has a statue in his honor in Winnfield Winn Parish LA, as the only
American Revolutionary solder in Winn Parish. He lived to just a few days
short of his 100th bdy. If I remember correctly, John's brother lived to
be 117 years old. Both John & his brother married native americans.

Thanks for the reply. I have all the Johnson info. I am at a loss for Lucinda's info. According to my Grandmother she was called Lucinda but she was you and doesn't remember her great grandmother very well. She did say that her mother and grandmother took care of her when she was ill and dying. I hope you find her. I am just starting to look for her parents. But as you know the census is a problem in 1840 because it doesnt list the children. In 1850 she was married and had Viney in the house. Viney's real name by the way is Serena. My grandmother remembers her too. My grandmother is 84 so I want to find what I can. my email is boundforheaven2000(a)yahoo.com

Hi,
I found Lucinda (Cindy) Cloud born April 14, 1830, died February 10, 1924, and is buried in #1 Cemetery, Rapides Parish, Louisiana. She married Carroll Johnson, born June 30, 1824 and died January 9, 1906. Their children were named Viney, b. 1849; Martha, born 1851: Rebecca, born 1858; Lucenda, born 1861; Carroll, born 1863; Gilbert, born 1866; Louisa, born 1869; Rubin, born 1871.
Caroll Johnson's father was Gideon Johnson, born February 12, 1787 in Edgefield Co., South Carolina and his mother was Nancy Sweat, no more info on her. I could not find any info on Lucinda's ancestors, but I have a few more places to look if you wish.

Hi I hope you could help me find the Cloud family that ties into me. I have Cynthia Lucinda Cloud Born in April 1830. I have no parents for her. I am from that line. SHe married Carroll Johnson. I can give info on herto me, I just want to tie into her parents. I thought you might have her listed somewhere. I had someone tell me of some famous Clouds in LA. They said she probably came form there. I havent been able to tie into any. The name Jeremiah is the name that was given to me that she might tie into. I hope you can fill in the gap for me. thanks

Does anyone have a current e-mail address for Myra Cooper McAlister?
I was referred to her by another Cloud researcher as a person who might be
able to help me sort out a portion of my Cloud ancestry, but the address I
was given is no longer valid.
Thanks for any help you can give me.

I would suspect that John J. CLOUD was a nephew to Jeremiah and a cousin to the others.
In 1850, the CLOUDS were in Bradley County, TN and moved to Benton, Saline County, AR in 1852. I fyu have access to an 1850 Bradley County, TN census, you may find your John J. CLOUD. I would appreciate any information that you could provide concerning John J. Cloud in your research. By the way, do you have family connections to the CLOUDS?

Hi Ray,
Many thanks for the information. Is there any possibility that JOHN J. CLOUD was one of the 6 sons of JEREMIAH CLOUD? He was born about 1834, and JOHN FARMER CLOUD was born about 1832.
Sincerely,

John Farmer Cloud and Tilghman (the correct spelling) H. Cloud wetre brothers and the sons of Tilman Howard Cloud. I am not sure about John J. Cloud, though he may be a son of Tilghman H. Cloud. John Farmer Cloud was one of my gggrand fathers on my mother's side. John Farmer lived in Benton and Tilghman moved to Malvern, AR and operated a tannery there. There were six other brothers and two sisters in the family of Jeremiah Cloud, all of them born in TN. My grandmother was the daughter of Tilman Cloud, a son of John Farmer.

My sister and I just put that on Ancestry to see if we could find some
family.
