Hi Cloud researchers,
I was hoping someone out there may be connected to
my "Cloud" line which I have many blanks. This is what I have:

Co.??). He was married 3 times, the first 2 in PA and the last in
Rush Co.,IN.
Jesse was 1st married to Evalina ..??.., about 1824.
Evalina died Oct.19,1832 probably during childbirth. Jesse and
Evalina had 3 children:1. Hester, born 1830, mar.William Venables.
2. Ann Cochran, born 1832
3. Evaline, born 1832, mar.1st Nathan Knott
2nf William Snoddy
Jesse 2nd marriage was to Jane Nelson, about 1832 in PA.
Jesse and Jane had 3 children:
1.Nelson Croft, born Mar.16,1834
2.Allen H., born Mar.16,1837
3.Silillah E., born Mar.5,1840.
Jesse and Jane moved to Rush Co.,IN in 1835, and their last
two children were born in Rush Co. Jane died about 1842.
Jesse married his 3rd wife, Letisha Bowling, Jun.9,1844 in
Rush Co.,IN. Jesse and Letisha had 7 children in the Rush/Franklin
Co.,IN area. They were: Albert Whitmer, Mary J., Jesse, Emma A.,
Sarah Amanda, Ellim, Letisha.
I'm really trying to find Jesses parents and some of his
past. Let me know if you have anything. Thanks, Tim Mattingly
Dear Joe, The Daniel Cloud who died at the Alamo was a descendant of William
Cloud who came w. Wm. Penn to Pennsylvania in 1638. Daniel was a lawyer,
lived in KY and in Natchitoches, LA for awhile. He wrote to his uncle John
Cloud of Natchitoches Psh. LA that he was going to get rich in Texas. He
was only there 30 days or so before the seige. I'm not sure where his
family was at that time or what happened to them. John Cloud is my
husband's Revolutionary gggg? grandfather.
Happy hunting. Beth Austin

Daniel William Cloud was a young lawyer from Natchitoches, LA (hope I spelled
that right!). There are copies of a letter that he wrote home regarding the
political events of the era that culminated in the Alamo. Very interesting
stuff.
As I understand it, Danile William Cloud was a cousin of John Cloud, a
revolutionary war vet who settled in LA. I am researching Mary Ann Cloud,
daughter of William Cloud and Rebecca Roe, and granddaughter of John Cloud.
Hope this helps you with Daniel William Cloud. Is there anyone out there with
information on Mary Ann Cloud, who married John Dickerson on March 13, 1845
in Ouachita Parish, LA?
Thanks! Jean

Joe, I'd have to look in my records to find the particulars re
Daniel Cloud who died at the Alamo but, as I recall, he was from
Louisiana and the son of Noah ??? .... I have an article from
a Louisiana society that I could copy to you (assuming I can find
it) and I think he was a topic of a CFA journal article also ?
My branch of the Clouds is unable to tie into the main branch
that came from England with William Penn, but Daniel's branch
is traced back into that line.

Interesting .... you're a year younger than I, probably graduated
from high school the same year I did (1961) .... I visited Lampasas
fairly often and went to college at Howard Payne in Brownwood starting
in September 1961.

I have a Rosa Cloud, born 1904 in my data. I have Rosa as female, but think
that may be just due to the name. I dont have anything on a marriage. I
have this line going way back. You might want to take a look at my data at
www.hom.net/~kennyc . I am sure you will probably hear from other on the
list. There is a Cloud Family association that many of us belong to, and
they have extensive file on Clouds. Good Luck

I am new to this web page so hope this is what you are looking for.
I am Albert Joe Cloud, son of Albert Frank Cloud. I was born in Lampasas,
Texas in 1944. My father is the son of Rosa Cloud. He was born in Briggs,
Texas in 1904 (I think). My brother, Thomas Wayne Cloud still lives in
Brownwood, Texas which is where I grew up. I was told that my family came to
the US from Wales in the early 1860's and settled in Tennessee. I was told
they came to Texas in a covered wagon in the late 1860's. I have been unable
to determine if this is indeed true. There is the name, "Daniel William
Cloud" on the marker at the Alamo in San Antonio. It would be interesting to
know if anyone has any information that could help me determine if I am
related to the Cloud killed at the Alamo and if the story of my family
originating in Wales is true. I no longer have any personal contact with my
family so my efforts at tracing my family tree is all but impossible.
Thanks.
Joe

Jean,
I also have William John Thompson Dickerson as the son of Michael
Dickerson and Rachel Wood. Do you have the children of William Dickerson and
Deletta Cloud? Have you been able to locate their marriage license? I've got
their marriage date as Oct 7, 1838 but I don't have a location. I've decided
to order Russ William's Encyclopedia of Individuals and Founding Families of
the Ouachita Valley of Louisiana from 1785 to 1850. I'm thinking that I will
probably order parts one and two even though it will get a bit expensive.
I've seen them and I know they are worth it. I'll be sure to look up info on
Deletta when it arrives.
Like you, I've had no luck finding Elizabeth Cloud. Russ thought she
might be the daughter of Adam Cloud but as you know, this proved to be
unlikely or at least there don't seem to be any records naming her as his
daughter. I'm hoping one of our new members to the e-group might be able to
help us out. She has been quite a challenge. Good luck. Kathy

Could anyone shed any light on the following Cloud ladies?
Robert Dickerson married Elizabeth Cloud, May 16, 1810, Amite County MS.
John Dickerson (son of Robert) married Mary Ann Cloud (reportedly of Indian
heritage and with the given name of Lasafiene) March 13, 1845, Ouachita
Parish, LA.
William Dickerson (possible son of Robert?) married Deletta Cloud, October 4
1838 Ouachita Parish, LA.
Any assistance or even guesses would be appreciated!

Laura ....
. the list is not "moderated" .... it's open to anyone that
subscribes (but it _is_ run by a stupid machine !!)
. I've not gotten any messages about you trying to subscribe ??
. the message you sent to the list was forwarded to everyone on
the list -- so you're obviously subscribed (and I didn't do anything!)
but, to subscribe, send email to
CLOUD-L-request(a)rootsweb.com
and put the single word "subscribe" in the body of the message
(you could also put it in the subject area).
If this doesn't work, I can do it manually ..... but it's a
whole lot easier if you can just drop an email to the list
server (i.e. the computer)

My mail server bounced me again, and I tried resubscribing but I gather you
have this list moderated as to if new subscribers can subscribe them selves.
Please resubscribe me .

Hi: I'm new to the list and am the g-grand daughter of Mary Emmaline
Cloud and Nulen Cave. I have been going over the Web site of the Cloud
Assoc. and enjoyed it very much. I have much to be greatful for for all
the new cousins that I have met while researching this extended family.

Hi, posting my query one more time. Does anyone have info on Margaret
Cloud who married Joseph Carter in PA about 1775 (as I recall)? It was
either in Carversville, Bucks Co. or Cartersville, Chester Co.
