1796 - Benjamin Cloud recommended as Lieutenant of Militia, 2nd Btn., in
place of Martin Dickerson, who resigned. Joseph R. Johnson as Ensign in
place of Benjamin Cloud.

1799 - William Cloud and James Dickerson were appointed to procession
all the land in Thomas Whitlocks Company of Militia. Ibid.
William Cloud, Martin Dickerson and Philip Gaines all appear on tax
lists and in court records for Grayson County, VA., in 1812.
Martin Dickerson is brought to court in Grayson County, VA., in 1812 for
importing a slave from James Dickerson living in Patrick County, VA.

13 July, 1820, James Dickerson sold land to Martin Cloud. They both
lived along Peters Creek in Patrick County, VA.
1 January, 1821, James Dickerson sold land to Martin Cloud.
On the same date, Martin Cloud sold land to James Dickerson. A swap I
suppose.
