Beginning March 2nd, 2020 the Mailing Lists functionality on RootsWeb will be discontinued. Users will no longer be able to send outgoing emails or accept incoming emails. Additionally, administration tools will no longer be available to list administrators and mailing lists will be put into an archival state.
Administrators may save the emails in their list prior to March 2nd. After that, mailing list archives will remain available and searchable on RootsWeb
Cousins, listmembers,
Just in case a RootsWeb listowner ever asks you for money - PLEASE REMEMBER
- the RootsWeb lists are TOTALLY FREE. As I have told you, the computers
and such which make these lists possible are partly paid for by RootsWeb
memberships and sponsorships and contributions from all of us who want to
voluntarily do so. Karen and Brian also spent thousands of dollars of their
OWN PERSONAL money last year so we could have all the good things from
RootsWeb, and I truly hope that anyone who can afford to do so will join in
and help - but that needs to be sent DIRECTLY TO ROOTSWEB!!!!! Those of us
who choose to be listowners do it TOTALLY as VOLUNTEERS, and the vast
majority of us are also sponsors of RootsWeb. The RootsWeb URL is
http://www.rootsweb.com/
Also - if you WANT to send your snailmail address and telephone number to a
listowner as an alternate means for folks to contact you, that is your
choice. I suggest that if any listowner ever REQUIRES that you send it,
you UNSUB from that list immediately.
I hope all of you are enjoying whichever holiday you celebrate.
Please remember that if you need to contact me in connection with anything
having to do with any of the lists I manage, use my name - CAROL - as the
subject line, so that I will see your post immediately rather than it
getting lost amongst the hundreds that hit my mailbox each day. Also,
please be sure to mention the name of the list you are posting about
somewhere in your message.
Thanks!!

Thomas CLOUD was bn 1765 PA, married Margaret CARSON, died 1840-1850
Clinton Co OH. After his death wife & family moved to Grant Co IN.
He was in Washington Co PA 1790,most the children born there. Who
were Thomas parents? Don't think he of the Chester Co PA line, at
least no proof so far. Was his Dad another line of Cloud? ANY help

Cousins,
There has been a slight delay in getting our searchable list archives onto
the web, but progress is being made. Posts will begin to be archived very
soon - before the first of the year - probably within the next couple of
weeks. As soon as I know when the archives will be on the web - and the URL
- I will let you know.
Once again, the wonderful pair of volunteers who created and "power"
RootsWeb have given their time and energy (and money) to help us. Thank
you, Karen Isaacson and Dr. Brian Leverich!!! And thank you, also, Marc
Nozell (who contributed greatly to this project)!
