I received the following letter that some recipients might be able to help
on, I can't:
"My grandfather was born at Cloud's Cove, Madison Cty, AL. His name was
Robert Bruce Sewell. He had a brother named John M. who lived in CA, and a
sister, Lizzie that lived at Hobbs Island, Madison Cty, AL and may have been
married to an Earl Cloud. I have some letters with mention of more
sisters,Janie and Jenne. Jennie married a Jesse Moore. My grandfather's
father was Marcus L Sewell b. Mar 13, 1836 in TN. I have letters from a
J.D.(Davis) Cloud dated back in the 30's that mention Harvey, Arthur, and
Will, and a sister, Janie Couch that lived in AR. In a letter from Janie
Couch to Bob Sewell, she tells him about an aunt, Mary Turner, Uncle Buck
Howard, Uncle Davis Howard , and Uncle John Howard, who were all dead in in
May 1932 when the letter was written. Davis and Janie address their
letters Dear cousin Bob, and sign them Your cousin. All help will be
appreciated.
Signed Jack Sewell, 2513 Longmire Dr, College Station ,TX 77845"

Byron, recently I clicked on billing detail and noticed that I had been
billed for
$85.60 for last month instead of my usual $19.95, On checking I was told that
the change had been made by a choice made from my computer, which is very
unlikely.

Saturday, October 18th, 1997 is a day that will live in infamy !
The University of Tennesse made a dastardly and unprovoked attack on the
Crimson Tide of Alabama !
The University of Florida did the same to Auburn University, War Eagle !
They came to our own state to commit this travesty !
It is enough to make "Bear Bryant" and "Shug Jordan" turn over in their
graves.

[this is a "re-send" of Jeremiah's obit -- originally posted under
misleading Subject line June 6 this year] ....
................
I found Jeremiah's obit in the Barker library on the University of Texas
campus. It is in the April 6, 1861 Hempstead Courier and reads as follows:
" Died, On Caney creek in this county, on the
14th ult., MR. JEREMIAH CLOUD, Sr., In the
77th year of his age.
" Mr. C. was born in Twiggs Co.,
Georgia, in 1784; emigrated to Mont-
gomery Co. Alabama in 1816, when he
removed to this State, in which he
lived up to the time of his death, shar-
ing her joys and sorrows.
" He leaves behind him what the best
of us aspire to, an unsullied reputation;
besides a numerous family, consisting
of his first and only wife, who was the
partner of his days for sixty years,
six children, thirty four grand-children,
and twenty-six great grand children;
all of whom must be often reminded
of his absence, and feel the want of
his experienced counsel."
===== I'd hoped to find some clue as to his siblings
(if any) and his parentage ..... oh well ....

Hello to the Cloud family,
I'm a real novice family historian and I'm hoping that the CLOUD clan may
be able to help me. I've come up against a brick wall searching for my
great-grandmother Susan Ann Cloud, supposedly born in Bridport, Dorset UK.
approximately 1845. Cloud seems to be a very unusual name and there don't
seem to be many of them in Dorset at this period. Does anyone else have a
CLOUD connection in Dorset, UK? Where does the name originate from? Did
they all emigrate??
Regards
Maureen Fearn (living in Kent, UK and also a novice on the Internet)
