Hi Jimmy. I'm the daughter of Luray David. Closson and Esther Linscott Closson. Your Dad Harry was my dads uncle. We all adored Uncle Harry and his wonderful sense of humor! I have some stories I could tell.... So, our great-great Grand father was George Washington Closson, his wife was Louisa N. Chatto. My great Grand father was Capt. David Freeman Closson and my Grand father, Guy Freeman Closson and wife Grace Higgins Closson are my Grandparents.
Hope you and your family are well. Mom turned 85 this year and is going strong. She's the last one left now on both sides of her family. Her sister, Pat Linscott Dewitt, was married to Ed. L Dewitt who is alive and doing well. We really have a wonderful/amazing family tree?
Victoria aka Vicki Closson

It is said that my John Closson came from New York State I am hoping to prove that he lived with or born from the Closson family from Washington County and had a brother named Stephen Closson 1769-1864. This Stephen Closson had a son Named Gideon

I have the same John Closson as you do, the son of Wilbur Closson. He is the
brother of my 3rd Great Grandfather. He was born in Nov 18, 1776 in Dutchess
Co., NY and died 1821 in Rockingham or Townshend, VT.

The John Closson born 1776 that I have was married to Abiah Lee and Jane.
Either there are two Johns born in 1776 (quite possible) or my information
is incorrect.

I am looking for any info on John Closson born in 1776. I know he moved to Upper Canada (Ontario) in 1805 from New York State. It is stated that he was a shoe maker and tanner. He moved to Highland Creek and met his wife Pauline Palmer. In around 1813 he moved back to the US to Chautauqua County where they had most of thier children and moved back to Highland Creek some time after 1830-36.
William G. Closson has my Closson line in the back of one of his books under unknown Clossons. He interviewed some of my family back in the day and they stated that they thinck that John's father was a shiper from Cornwall England and died and left John with alot of money. John then moved in with his grandfather. It is also said that John had a brother named Gidean. Now if any one out thier with info on a John Closson that might fit my John Closson then please contact me!!! Fraser Closson
