Apparently a company out of Denver is advertising a Closson Yearbook. One of
our members has researched it and found it to be a scam so be aware of a
solicitation for "The Year 2004 International Closson Family Yearbook"

There is a Lucillius Closson marriage to Lucy Cumber 19 Jun 1863 in Shelby County, Illinois.
There is a Lucillius Closson marriage to Kate Chappell 20 Jun 1868 in Ogle County, Illinois
These are from the Illinois Statewide Marriage Index 1763-1900.
I maintain a database of Closson names that researchers have shared with me. Hope this helps.

Lucilius, his mother, and two sisters are buried in Lakeview Cemetery in Penn Yan.
Lucilius: ~1832 - 1899
Married Catherine (Kate) Van Sickle Chappell in Illinois in 1868; she's buried in Rock Stream with their son Edson. Edson's dates are on the stone, but not hers. Edson: 1876 - 1905
His mother, Philotheta Forbes: 1793 - 1885. She may have come from Massachusetts.
I suspect his father's name may have been William, but I don't know for sure, or anything else about William.
Thanks.

Where in NY state is your Lucillus buried? I have been researching Clossons in upstate NY, but I also happen to have other names in Steuben County, and have noticed a few Closson lines in southern NY. Please give dates, too. I may be able to help you.

A Lucillius? Lucellus, Lucillus Lucilius?
Worked for John Deere (the man) in Illinois, fought in the Civil War with an Illinois unit, died and is buried in NY state on the same lot as his mother, Philotheta Forbes (his wife buried 30 miles away, so sad) ... but I don't know where he was born, nor do I have his father's name ... And nothing at all about his mother.
My g-g-grandfather; he's a brickwall for me.
Anyone?
