I am looking for the father of James S. Clossin born in 1785 in Cumberland Co, PA. Married about 1810 to Elizabeth Lindsey. His son was James Smith Clossin, born in 1821. Can anyone give me some pointers for tracing people back farther than the mid to late 1700's. I am having a hard time finding anything prior to that for a number of my branches. Thanks!

I found these while looking for my own Clossons. They're not related to me, but figured I'd share the info:
Buried in the Rural Cemetery, Addison, Steuben Cty, NY:
Janet C. Closson 1887 - 1954
Nancy M. Closson 1847 - 1909
Norman B. Closson 1882 - 1960
Roy Closson 1871 - 1924
William Closson 1846 - 1918
This family is the family of William Oscar CLOSSON8(David Beach7, John6, Nehemiah5-4,John3, Nehemiah2, Josiah1). For those of you using the Josiah Closson Family genealogy it is found on page 309 and adds some death dates.
Thank you Janet.
