Beginning March 2nd, 2020 the Mailing Lists functionality on RootsWeb will be discontinued. Users will no longer be able to send outgoing emails or accept incoming emails. Additionally, administration tools will no longer be available to list administrators and mailing lists will be put into an archival state.
Administrators may save the emails in their list prior to March 2nd. After that, mailing list archives will remain available and searchable on RootsWeb
The oldest I have in my mother's line is: Rev. Josiah Closson, b.1766.
Subsequent generations of these Clossons resided in Maine (Hancock Co.).
Josiah and Sally Tobin,Ephriam and Lucy Eaton, Jacob Austin Closson and Mary
Addie Soule.
I had always assumed it was a Norwegian name, but really have no idea.
Anybody have a clue?

I hope this helps.

i got the email sent to me by robert closson
but the other i deleted. From an Ann I believe
(excuse my mind, i am moving tomorrow)
Albert H Closson was born in upstate NY around 1854
lived in Ganssevort(sp?) for some time where Ostrum(one of his sons) was
buried
then moved to Glens Falls, NY from around 1898 to 1928ish when he died.
he had 4 children, they all died young( ca 1month, 15yrs, 20yrs, 25yrs)
and none had any children.
(((this is a VERY rough sketch)))
best regards
mike engle

I tried emailing him personally from the email he sent me about Closson.
I checked with the Brooklyn Historical Society. right now they are
renovating and nothing is available until the summer of 2002. Interesting
is that they have it listed as Clossin
Also, if Robert is reading this, do you have the date of death for Albert
H Closson?
Best regards
mike engle
