The Close Family that I am trying to connect with lived in the Oil City (Whiting, Indiana area). They came from Germany and some of my ancestors worked for the family there in Whiting, IN.
There is another Close family from Chesterton, Indiana that is related to my Scholz side of the family.
If you care to communicate with me, do so at:

Thank you

William Crawford, Sr. (1770-1845), son of Samuel Crawford, Sr. and Jennett (Mason) Crawford of Virginia, is interred in the Thompson Cemetery in Littleton, Schuyler County, Illinois.
My 4th great grandfather, John Close, of Nelson County, Kentucky was closely associated with William Crawford, Sr. and his brother, Samuel Crawford, Jr. There are letters in the John Close papers collection written by Samuel Crawford, Jr. to John Close, one in which Samuel Crawford sends the regards of his brother, William.
That you are researching Close in Schuyler County, Illinois makes me wonder too.
