What I have been told (and do not have any certification of) is that this Reuben (1743-1826)was born in Scotland. He married a "D" (1742-1826) who is believed to have been Native Indian (not certified either). Both died in Tioga Co., PA and are buried in the Old Carpentry/Academy Corners Cemetery in Deerfield Township, Tioga Co., PA. I have been there and seen their gravestones as well as their son, Newbury, Esther & Patty Cloos' gravestones. We have a Cloos/Close reunion each August that has been held at Cowanesque Lake near Lawrenceville, PA since the year 2000. There is a Newbury Cloos farm, a David Close house, an Old Cloos Burying Grounds, a few stones left of the foundation of the Close School as well as there was at one time, a Close District. Newbury & Esther Cloos had 11 children that were raised in Tioga Co., PA. Have you found any connection to any of this with your files? Thank you.
Sally

No, sorry. The Reuben I am researching was born about 1777 in NY. He married Louisa Shaw in 1822. I'm trying to find the father of Smith Close born 1814 in NY and died 1856 in Ulysses, Thompkins Co. NY. Maybe your Reuben and my Smith were brothers. What was your Reuben's father's name?

Would this be Reuben born in NY about 1813 and died in MI about 1870? Whose son was Seymour - the line I'm researching?
