I know that there was a Rebecca McMurland or McMurchland (I have seen it
both ways) who was married to Peter Close. Peter came from Germany in 1775.
He settled in Island Creek, Jefferson Co but died in Monroe Twp. Carroll Co.
in 1863. According to my info. Their children were Sarah, John, Michael,
William, Peter, Rebecca, Phoebe, Jane and Joseph. I have a little more
information on this family.
Hello - Yes, I definitely am interested in what you have. I have been told
that at one time our last name was spelled Klose, but I have never confirmed
it. Sally Close Meabon

You might want to check the following out:
1916 Canada Census of Manitoba, Saskatchewan, and Alberta
You are here: Search > Census > 1916 Canada Census of Manitoba, Saskatchewan, and Alberta

This was just announced. If you have CLOSE ancestors who went to Canada, you may find them here. I found my family plus a lot more. I never realized there were so many CLOSEs that went to Canada. Mine were of German origin but I notice there are some that are from England.
Hope this helps someone.
