Hi
I've just discovered from the Will of her sister, Emma
in 1911, that my ggg aunt, Jane BLATCHLEY, was married
to a CLOSE (forename unknown). She was born in Bath in
1828 and was a schoolmistress in the 1841 and 1851
Census. However, she disappears by 1861 so may have
emigrated by then. I can't find a marriage before then
so she might have married in S Africa. The Will says
that she was living at Grey Cottage, Palmyra Road,
Newlands, Cape Colony and she had a daughter,
Charlotte E. CLOSE.
Is anyone else researching this family, please?
Kind regards
Joanna
