I have two members of my Chamberlain ancestors born in Baltonsborough who married Close family members. John Chamberlain married Caroline Close 1852 West Pennard Somerset England and Thomas Chamberlain married Hannah Close. Thomas and John left England for Australia in 1856. I only have info on Thomas so far and he died at Arnold's Bridge, Victoria,Australia in 1908 and his wife Hannah died in same place in 1903.There is a website called First Families for Australia where you can find some of this information. http://www.firstfamilies2001.net.au/welcome.htm
There is also a father and mother listed for Carol and Hannah Close. John Close and Agnes Higgins. Hope this helps.
Has anyone ever ordered the "Family Group Sheets" on eBay from Trussell
Publishing? They sure seem to have a lot of "Family Group Sheets" for just
about all the surnames I am researching, so I was just wondering if anyone
has had any dealings with them and if they are legitimate. I appreciate any
input about them.
Thanks in advance!

I have received the following from RootsWeb:
Because of the catastrophe that happened in the United States Tuesday,
11 Sept., 2001, MyFamily.com (RootsWeb.com and Ancestry.com) has created
a special Message Board for those who wish to express or share
condolences, sorrow, prayers, and thoughts for the victims, their
families and friends.
However, this is not a board for discussion on how the U.S. should
resolve this issue or about how the search for those responsible is
going.
The URL for the board is

Hello! I'm looking for info on a Close/Reynolds marriage myself. My grandmother was Marion Hawley Reynolds, born 1898 in Stamford, CT. She had a cousin, Ethelyn Close, whose mother was a Reynolds. I thought perhaps you might have heard of Ethelyn. Thanks, Carol
Hi all.
I am currently researching the CLOSE family from Hull. Located mainly
around the Sculcoates and Drypool areas dating back to late 1700's.
I have got as far as Henry CLOSE b: 1847 d: 1937 married to Mary Baxter
in 1867. Mother was Maria b: 1825, father unknown (illegitimate). Henry
and Mary had sons: - William Henry, Albert, Charles and John. Daughters:
- Eve Elizabeth, Harriet B, Maria and Alice.
Parents to Maria (Henry's mother) where John CLOSE b: 1789 and Elizabeth
Chafer b: 1789, married 1813 at Holy Trinity Church in Hull. Sons: -
John, John and James. Daughters: - Maria, Sarah, Mary, Ann and Rhoda.
Parents to John where James CLOSE and Rhoda.
This is as far as I am.
I am specifically trying to find a Grinton link and also a link to
Durham. So any help here would be appreciated.
It is said within distant relatives that Brian CLOSE (Yorkshire
cricketer) was a relation to my Great uncle Albert. Don't know how true
this is.
By the way I changed my name by Deed Poll from CLOSE to Davidson in
1981.
Please contact me with any information and I will also be happy to
exchange data.
Thank you
Regards Tony

Hi list,
I am missing a relative named Frank Close who was born supposedly in SC in 1852.
I just found out from my aunt that he was raised by a white couple. Does this
story ring a bell with any one in this list. His first name may not have been
Frank. The last record I found of his existence was a marriage certificate
which puts him in Bainbridge, Ga in 1891. If you have any information that may
help, please let me know. I am doing this research to create a little family
history scrapbook to Give out so my family may know their history or roots. The
Decatur County GA 1900 census states he was born in 1852 in South Carolina, but
of course it could be wrong. I live in South Carolina and have researched 1860
for a slave owner with the last name of Close and Found only one and she owned a
female.
Any assistance or information would greatly be appreciated.
Thanks
Erika
