Hi Sarah - This death certificate transcription was requested by me on the
California Death Index mailing list. I received a copy personally through
that list. I am surprised he also sent it to the CLOSE list. I have posted
the transcription on the California Death Index in the Add Post-em section.
Sarah Jane CLOSE is the daughter of James CLOSE and Jane BENTLEY.
If anyone else is connected to this family I would love to hear from them.

Just a note to welcome our new subscribers and to encourage you to jump
right in and let us know who you are looking for and what you have to
share. For the new ones, I would suggest reading the list archives to
find out what has gone on in the past.
The Threaded Archives for any mailing list can be found at:

Also, with summer coming on and people going on vacation, you might want
to unsubscribe while you are gone, escepially if your ISP doesn't
furnish you with a very large mail box. You can always check the
archives for happenings while away. Rootsweb is set to unsubscribe
automatically an email address after 4 bounces.
NEW LIST -- This may not be pertenant to some of you but to some it
will be. I have started a new surname list which covers the surname
DUNKELBERGER (Dunckelnberg, Dunkelberg) There are several on the
mailing lists which I administer with MOLL and DUNKELBERGER connections.
Some with SCHOCH, SCHOCK ties to MOLL might be interested also.
Again, welcome, new subscribers. Hope we can all be of some help to
each other.

Hi listers - We have found our James CLOSE and Jane BENTLEY and their family in Emington, Illinois. Some of the children and grandchildren, and even a nephew and his family, ended up in California after leaving Illinois. This has been a struggle finding them, but very rewarding. We have not found all the children yet, as there were at least 14 that we know of.
I would be interested to know if any one else on the list has CLOSE relatives from the Emington, Illinois, area which is near Broughton.
Names which married into the CLOSE family in Illinois are GERHART, WEATHERHEAD, GRISWOLD, SHAW, COSSELMEN, PARKER.

Hi everyone:
Hope I haven't scared everyone into silence with my information on
viruses, etc. Please be assured that you can't get a virus through the
lists because Rootsweb stripes any attachments from things sent to them.
If you are leary of exchanging emails concerning your research with
members of the list, why not just post it to the list (unless it is
absolutely something you wouldn't want everyone to see).
Just heard there is another new nasty out. I received the following
from another list:
> This is on the www.jungle.com site
>
> New Virus Alert! The "A Virtual Card For You" Virus has been classified by
> Microsoft and McAfee as the most destructive so far. No vaccine has yet been
> developed. This Virus automatically sends itself to all the contacts on your
> list and could permanently destroy your hard disk. Intel also announced a
> different virus with the title "An Internet Flower For You" which will
> delete selected files from your computer. If you receive any mail with
> either of these headings please delete them immediately!
>
Don't be afraid of posting to the list. Just watch out for any
attachments in your other email.
