Hi Debra,
In order to get meaningful results, those tested need to be male descendants in an all male line from the Clores. The Clores are looking for males to be tested for the Y DNA. I am not that knowledgeable about the technical side but it has to do with the X Y chromosomes. Only males have the Y chromosome passed from father to son. Both males and females have the X chromosome passed from mother to child and therefore would be eligible for mtDNA testing but that goes back to the maternal so would be Adam Clore's wife Margaret Crisler back to her mother Rosina Garr and her mother Eva Seidelmann, etc. rather than a Clore.
Appreciate the offer though!
Thanks, Cathi
