Message Board Post:
Sarah Clooney & John Tronson were married at The Church of the Assumption in Tullamore on Nov.27.1863...their witnesses were Joe & Maria Conroy. I checked my baptismal records to see if they had any children bapt. at that church after their wedding date but I found no records. It seems that Sarah was born abt. 1843 so I checked these same records from 1842-1844 for Sarah's bapt. but there's no record for her either.
I too am a Clooney...my great grandmother was Mary Clooney, daughter of John Clooney & Mary Coffey..she was bapt. at The Assumption in 1831. There were quite a few Clooneys in the area and they all seem to be related so Sarah was probably connected also. Do you know of any bros/sis that Sarah had because I could look for their names in my church records and maybe figure out who her parents were. Actually the Clooneys seem to have moved on after 1863 as the only other records are those of the marriage of Thomas Clooney & Eliza Boland in 1867 and the bapt. of several of their children. The church records end in 1880.
