I'm looking for a marriage record for Margaret Cloninger, daughter of
Jacob Cloninger, Sr. and Elizabeth Clemmer [Hancock] to William M.
Summy. The marriage probably took place about 1845 in either Lincoln
Co., NC or Union Co., GA.
1850 Polk County, TN Census

Nancy I. 4 F GA
Mary E. 1 F TN
1860 McMinn County, TN Census

810 William M. Summy 37 M blacksmith NC
Margaret 36 F NC
Nancy 14 F GA
Catherine 3 F TN
Mary Conger 45 F domestic NC (This is probably Mary M. Cloninger,
sister of Margaret.)
The ages for Margaret are what are listed in the census records. I have
no explanation for the discrepancy.
Is there someone in Lincoln, NC who could look for a marriage record for
this pair, please?
According to "Our Kin", Margaret "Peggy" Cloninger married David Summey.
I think Hoffman had the Summey part right, just missed the given name.
This William may have been the son of David. Don't know.
