I would like to share with you some recent discoveries I have made
regarding the Jacob Cloninger, Sr. family. Let me say first how much I
appreciate the assistance of the lookup volunteers who provided me with
the necessary census information. Thank you very much for your
assistance, Joyce Graham and Betty Ferguson. I could not have reached
this point without your help.
For those of you who have a copy of "Our Kin", L. Hoffman lists five
children for Jacob Cloninger, Sr. on page 156. I have found an
additional five children. (This is no sneer at "Our Kin" so don't
anyone get upset.) The children of Jacob and Elizabeth Clemmer
Cloninger are as follows:
1. George Davidson Cloninger born June 8, 1811, married (1) Elizabeth
Sims, (2) Arty Teague.
2. Mary M. Cloninger born about 1812, married a Moore.
3. Daughter Cloninger born about 1816.
4. Margaret Cloninger born about 1818, married David Summey.
5. Daughter Cloninger born about 1820.
6. John W. Cloninger born November 10, 1821, married Catherine Kinser.
7. Jacob Cloninger, Jr. born October 3, 1826, married Margaret
Lineberger.
8. Nancy A. Cloninger born about 1829.
9. James J. Cloninger born about 1831, married Sarah A. Kinser.
10. Hulda J. Cloninger born about 1838, probably died as a child.
If anyone has any information on this family, particularly the daughters
with no names, I would love to see it. If anyone wants more information
on this family, I will be happy to share what I have.
