I received a forwarded query about a Polly Cloninger wedding one Jacob
Summit (son of Johannes Francis Summit, Sr. of Lincoln Co.) on Dec. 25,
1805. Do you have anything on this couple? The query is asking about any
info & children. I don't have any info myself and I'm not really sure
why-that name seems very familiar.
Thanks, Barbara

When you visit the Bell's Chapel Cemetery you will notice that the
cemetery association as placed a "Pioneer Settler" commerative Stone in
Honor of Valentine "Felty" CLONINGER and wife Mary LONG CLONINGER. It is
placed just below Mary's actual grave. Felty was killed by Jayhawker's in
1864. We have yet to locate his body. The story goes that he was taken to
Little Rock, Arkansas by boat and buried in the National Cem. there. But
no record has been found to date. Does anyone know where he is buried?
This cemetery is located between Pottsville and Atkins in Pope County,
Arkansas, between the Arkansas River and Interstate 40.
