Hi Sue Creel ~
We have been trying to trace the lineage of Lucretia Jane "Cressie" Cloer for quite some time without any luck whatsoever. I came across your message regarding the "Cloer Reunion" scheduled for July 5, 2003 and thought I'd e-mail you with the hope that someone out there that you might be in touch with knows about our Lucretia Jane Cloer.
Let me address some similarities that makes us think she's some how connected with the Jacob and Lucretia Cloer lines ~ we believe that her parents are John Baldwin & Frances "Fannie" (Johnson) Cloer, but have not been able to actually place her in that family, i.e. Census records, etc.
Lucretia Jane Cloer b. 23 April 1830 in Fayette Co., AL married Raymond Reed McDaniel b. 6 May 1827. They were married in Fayette Co., AL in abt 1848. (John Baldwin Cloer, Sr. died in Fayette Co., AL) Lucretia & Raymond had the following children:
Frances "Fannie Elizabeth McDaniel (could have been named after Lucretia's mother Frances "Fannie" Johnson). Not uncommon to name a first born daughter after a mother.
George Washington McDaniel (could have been named after Lucretia's uncle George Washington Cloer)
William Thomas McDaniel
Cullin Ollie McDaniel (this is my direct line)
Lucinda Jane McDaniel (could have been name after Lucretia's uncle Lucinda Cloer)
Aurora Victoria McDaniel
Margaret Angeline "Maggie" McDaniel
Robert Lee McDaniel
Of course all of their children were born in Alabama, except William Thomas McDaniel and we show he was born in Mississippi (not sure that's correct however). Don't know why they would have been in Mississippi at that time.
Will anxiously be awaiting for your answer ~
