George Clinton was noted to have been born in Corbay / Corboy,
Parish of Killoe or Killow, part in Barony of Longford and part in Barony of Granard, county Longford, Ireland.
Andrew Adaire was of Corporation of St. Johnstown, now Ballinalee, co Longford, Ireland. He also had several townlands in Clonbroney Parish,
and had the townlands next to the Clinton lands.
Beatty families were tenants on Adair estates.
Inscription in a wall at Kilshruley "Captain Andrew Adaire did repair this castle in anno dom 1666".
FHL film 100883 "Act of Settlement" vol. XII pt. 2, p.220 no.14 listed Andrew Adaire, Esq., Barony Granard, co Longford. April 20th Inrolled 25 June 1668.

Perhaps there were Beatty and Clintons on this film ?
James CLINTON and Mary DEWITT had son,

Hi there,
I haven't come across any Adairs noted on Clinton's voyage, but you can double-check it on the 'Presbyterian Exodus, Co. Longford, 1729 -- Author: Thomas J. Barron' -- http://www.from-ireland.net/county/article/Presbyterian-Exodus,-Co.-Longf... --.
This has an excerpt of his diary and notes those who died on the voyage.
There's a lot of material on the voyage itself as the Captain of the ship was subsequently hanged (poss. drawn & quartered?) for his truly appalling behaviour, about 1 year afterwards.
Perhaps your Adairs were some of the happy few who made it?
I'll keep my eyes peeled meanwhile,
Mandiwand

Did you ever find the information on Matthais ? I'm very curious to see if he is John's father, and the first Clinton on the top of the family tree. If you or anyone else out there have any information on matthais Clinton or the Clinton's from orange county NC email me. I'm looking for information and have apparently hit the old brick wall.

Looking for info of Nancy Clinton B:abt 1837 in mo. she married John Luster in 1847 in salem Dent Co. Mo. In a trip to Salem I found a book that said she was related to Jonathan Clinton who was the Justice of the peace, did not say how she is related. I am thinking that Nancy is the daughter of William Clinton Jr. and Lucy. She doesn't fit in any other family of the Clintons of the area. William Jr. in the 1840 census had 5 children 4 girls and 1 boy. She must have been one of them. Nancy was married by the 1850 census and she always lived close to this family or her sister Permilia Clinton Matlock.
Anyone with info please I would love to here it.
Thanks
Sabrina
