Hi Rebecca,
I have only ordered Chicago certificates through a certificate lookup service. They're cheap and fast. If you would like the name of the website contact me directly. I've never ordered certificates directly from Cook County.
I also have Clintons from Canada that ended up in Chicago. My gr-grandfather was James Clinton born 1856 in Canada, possibly London. I remembered your Clinton family because I wondered if there was any connection to mine but it doesn't appear that there is.
Good Luck,
Jane

Jane, thank you so much...I don't know if she was a widow or not...both girls list their father as unknown which tells me that there was a problem somewhere. I have been looking for this for a couple of years. Do you know if I can get a copy of the marriage certificate? I made a trip to the Cook County Courthouse and looked for Muriel (my grandmother) and Katherine's birth certificates and of course they couldn't find them.I spent quite alot of money and time but now that I have the information at least I have somewhere to go. I am unable to locate Esther's death certificate. She died on March 6, 1913 I think in Evanston...can't find the death certificate. Any help would be appreciated but if you can't I really thank you for what you have done for me! Rebecca Dexter

>From the Illinois Marriage Index:
Joseph H. Bolton & Esther Elizabeth Clinton married 1892-05-19 at Cook County, Illinois.
>From the IGI:
Muriel Clinton Bolton born 05 May 1893 Chicago
Parents: Joseph H. Bolton & Esther E. Clinton
Katherine M. Bolton born 27 July 1894 Chicago
Parents: Joseph H. Bolton & Estar Clinton
I noticed that the 1900 Census stated that Esther E. Clinton was a widow. She must have changed her name back to Clinton.
Hope this helps,
Jane

Hi there,
What a shock to get a contact after six years ;-)
Not sure if you are part of the same family as our Peter Matthews was born c1840 not 1825. The line is as follows:
Patrick Mathews married May Clinton
1829 - Termonfeckin, Ireland
Their son Peter Mathews/Matthews born c1840 - Termonfeckin
married Mary Ann Starr (nee West) in 1883 in Victoria, Australia
Their only son Peter Mathews born c1884 married Alice Mae Cugley - 1905, Western Australia.
Regards
Dianne

I seek a DOD for Chauncey V. Clinton, husband of Harriet Ann Huller, who was listed in the 1910 census at Tamaroa, Perry Co., IL, but who may have died in 1915 in Will Co., IL. He was supposedly buried at the Old Cemetery outside of Wilton Center, Will Co., IL
