I have found on One World Tree a lot of information on the Peter Clinton-Catherine Plunkett line from County Louth, Ireland. Our family members are descendents of this line and I have more facts and pictures to add to the tree as well as a request for more information and pictures from the original researcher. However, there is no contact information. Anyone who would like to share in this research, please contact me. Thank you.

I posted here about 6 years ago and there is some new information but I will re-hash all I have.
My paternal grandmother was Mary Ann Clinton (1856-1925) of Lenaloughra, Fohenagh parish, Galway Ireland. Her siblings were Bridget,Matthew,Walter,Thomas,Patrick,Margaret,Elizabeth,John, Honoria & Martin. Patrick came to the States to San Francisco, married a Catherine Clauss and was childless. Elizabeth came and married William Applegate. They had two sons. As of this day, I think the rest remained in Ireland. The parents of Mary Ann Clinton were Thomas Clinton (1828-1889) and Catherine Harley (1835-?). Siblings of Thomas Clinton were James, Margaret & Bridget. Parents of Thomas Clinton were Malachy Clinton (1800-?) & Mary Naughton or Noon or Noonan. I have a Clinton cousin in Co Galway who has done some foot-work for me and he speaks of two Clinton families headed by Malachy & Kate Clinton, alive at the same time. One is buried in Old Ahascragh cemetery and the other in Chaplefinnerty. With the introduction of my Malachy & Mary, there seems to have been three.

Hi Kim
Mary Z. and I are long time e-mail correspondents, tho I haven't touched base with her in some time. I have a copy of her book on the Clinton family, but didn't know that y'all had a missing male in that line.
Aftr the book was published, it seems that Mary and I determined that y'all's James might have been from Lincoln Co. NC (working from memory)because his headcount in the 1790 census fit better than the count for the SC James. Do you recall anything about that?? Has been several years since we talked about it.
I know y'all come down from James Clinton, but had forgotten that he was in TN?? Where in the state was he?? (I sent my copy of the book home with dau for the hurricane season) I found record of Archibald in TN and also John and Henry were in Bedford Co. for the 1820 census - which I thought was interesting since Zach named his first son John and the second one Henry. He didn't name any of his sons James tho.
Joanne

Joanne,
Have you ever made contact with Mary ZINZILIETA?
She and I share a CLINTON line that came thru South Carolina, to Tennessee, To Kentucky, and to Southern Illinois (principally to Jefferson and Franklin Counties, though there was a family or two that moved on to Perry).
This family passed thru, and some stopped in, Crittenton Co., and Caldwell Co., Kentucky (next to Hopkins Co.). One of the males married in Hopkins Co., while a couple of other of the children married, settled in Livingston Co., Kentucky.
My branch went on to Jefferson Co., Illinois, while a couple of the girls went to Menard Co., Illiois.
We have a 'missing' male child in our CLINTON family who would have been born in the 1790s, but disappears from the family by 1820. We know that the family was in the Crittenden, Caldwell, Livingston County area of Kentucky by late 1810, as the oldest boy married in Livingston County in December 1810.
Would like to continue looking into the possibility of a connection.
Kim

Greetings
I haven't posted to this board in a while and want to renew my search for my ggg gf ZACHARIAH CLINTON, b 1795 in SC, d. 1859 in IL. First good record I have on him is 18 Nov 1821, when he md. SARAH HANKS in Hopkins Co. KY. The family was in Perry Co. IL in time for the 1830 census and in Jackson Co. IL shortly after that until Zach and Sarah died.
Looking for parents and / or siblings for Zachariah. I think he was the brother of Ezekiel Clinton who md. Elizabeth Wiatt on 1 Jan 1822 in Hopkins Co. and also some relation to Elizabth Clinton who md. Robert Johnston Gulley in Hopkins Co. in April 1807.
I also think that Zach spent some time in TN before going to Hopkins Co., but that is purely a guess.
I have pretty good records on Zach's family from 1821 to the present, but nothing prior.
Thanks for any assistance.
Joanne
